That's actually what I'm getting at...

I know they are very different, which is why it's a bit dumb to do the same thing they do.
This is how we celebrate. You could say it looked like Super Bowl fans after their team won the game. But, at least now, I see we are agreeing on the differences behind the reason for those celebrations which makes those celebrations unlike each other.

I'm happy he's gone, not because his death makes me happy but for the fact that he can't cause any trouble now that he is dead.

There is a good MLK quote.

“I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy.”

The whole quote is very powerful.

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that."-misquoted by Penn Jillette

not wanting to get the wrong person.

Every once in a while I look at America and think
"Is it possible for a whole country to be ghetto?"

Then I think, no, but they get all the attention.

As stated before that is NOT a quote from MLK Jr...http://the20.nbcnewyork.com/post/5158721867/i-mourn-the-loss-of-thousands-of-precious-lives

You seem smart enough to see the difference here, and yet you aren't acting it.

Your first pic shows people celebrating the deaths of thousands of INNOCENT people.

Your second pic shows people celebrating the deaths for a terrorist responsible for the death of thousands of INNOCENT people.

How hard is it to see the difference here? Your suggestion that both scenes are identical is absolutely ludicrous.

I like how the one kid in the top pic is wearing a Chicago Bears jersey.

I'm also curious how accurate it is. Much of the video and pics released on and after 9-11 purportedly showing people celebrating, especially in Iran or Iraq, were proven to be of several years prior to 9-11.

One of those things were shitty journalism spits out vitriol to incite vitriol. It doesn't matter that the truth came out, because the damage had already been done. People still see those images and will always remember for what they assume them to be.

And they do indeed lack class.

None the less, Americans are happy he was assassinated - make no mistake about it. And that in on itself is a celebration about someone's death.

Most people who aren't missing teeth and fuck their own family members will choose to accept peace, resolution and move on.

Those who are inbred, plow pulling, shoeless, confederate flag waving bumpkins will buy these and walk into their local drinking hole and "he-yuck" about it until they pass out from one too many "swigs" of uncle Joe's moonshine.

It's expected frankly.

We need the racism police from the Africa thread in here stat! Why people think it is okay to say what this idiot just said, yet jump up and down and act offended at "racism" blows my mind.

Well to be fair there are plenty where they're celebrating one or two people, but I'm not about to post pics of dismembered bodies. I'd wager much the same would happen here though if there was an accessible body left to the masses. Just look around the internet at the comments - I know actions are louder than words, but given the chance...

And I hate to go here, but it's ATOT so what the hell. :D I don't think Christianity is about 'an eye for an eye' and pretty sure it's a lot about forgiveness. With 75+% of the US population claiming to be Christian, it seems quite hypocritical to be dancing in the street in a drunken stumble over anybodies death. For the record I'm a pragmatic agnostic, so this just seems to magnify the "Sunday Morning Christians" - or seemingly the vast majority.

Now, where'd I put that flame suit. :awe:
