Which is of course driving the true conservatives crazy, since they have been arguing for decades that moral relativism is a blight on mankind, and that absolute fact and truth are knowable and ascertainable. But here we are in the UpsideDown, where relativism is all the rage.

Yep..To abandon facts is to abandon freedom. If nothing is true, then no one can criticize power, because there is no basis upon which to do so. If nothing is true, then all is spectacle. The biggest wallet pays for the most blinding lights.

Trump and his acolytes: "We have the most" "I have the highest" "I have the biggest"

Media: "Um, no, you don't. Here's the facts."

Trump et al: "Why are you guys so obsessed with numbers?"

Sean Spicer Today, Monday, Jan. 23 2017:

“I believe that we have to be honest with the American people, but I think sometimes we can disagree with the facts,” Spicer told reporters Monday in the first press briefing under President Donald Trump.

“Our intention is never to lie to you,” he added.

It almost makes my head hurt, trying to make heads or tails of this. Mara Liasson of NPR tried to get Spicer to commit to which unemployment number he cares about, but he was too slippery. It was like trying to nail Jell-o to a wall.

Please. Newt separated conservative "Truth" from facts 22 years ago. They've been going deeper into the post-truth miasma ever since. Even when the truth caught up to them in the Great Recession they had their street cred back by 2010.

Sean Spicer doesn't know what a fact is? Or just doubling down on stupid?

I'm not quite sure yet..Maybe, "We promise to tell you exactly the same thing that whatever news outlet we crown the unofficial arm of the Trump administration, tells you. Since you'll be hearing it from the government AND the press, you can believe it is the truth!"

Breitbart, Newsmax, Townhall, World Nut Daily, The American Stinker & so forth, obviously.

Maybe Trump can resuscitate the Talon News Agency...

It's not the separation of truth from facts, it's the assertion that there's no such thing as facts, i.e. there are no objective discernible truths.

When she talked about alternative facts I thought she was referring to the wrong Metro usage data they received. Has anyone heard any clarification on what she meant when she used that term? Unfortunate choice of words for sure....blood in the water sparks feeding frenzy.

Or she could have been simply lying.

She literally looks like she's wearing someone else's skin.

Yep, dehumanize her, that way you make it easier for your thugs to attack her, her husband and her children.
Ahhhh.... stop being so politically correct. You're normally so nuanced, educated, subtle and poignant in your well positioned arguments. Your PC culture really is too much for cavemen like myself.
