I don't understand... you want to make jeans like $200 jeans, but not sell them for $200... well the reason they are popular is because they are $200. You can buy plenty of jeans for $30 a pair. They aren't popular with the elite crowd because they are $35 a pair. If you start mass producing "expensive looking" jeans for $35, I'm not sure you'll accomplish much. The people who want cheap jeans will keep buying the cheap jeans that are out there, and the people who want expensive jeans want them as a status symbol so they'll keep buying the expensive ones.

Not saying it's impossible to succeed, but not sure that the market is really there...

Edit: That came out a lot more critical than I really intended - but my question is sound - are you sure that it's a legit market for what you want to sell?

Our customers (retailers) are primarily in lower income hispanic populated areas. Young hispanic girls love jeans...and prefer flashy premium style jeans. Most are out of their pricing target however. We will supply their demand. Once it takes off...present to buyers at Target, Ross, Marshall's, etc.

Yes, there are people who buy $200 jeans because, well they're $200. However, these $200 jeans aren't the same as your Wranglers and Rustlers...they have special washes or sprays with encrusted jewels, special cuts. They look good...not plain.

Personally I would LOVE to buy the wash jeans that 7 jeans have. Not because of the label - but because they look nice. If it cost $30 I would get them. But because they cost $150-200, I won't, especially because I know the fashion industry and I KNOW what the cost was.

I'm sure it's been asked, but are they for both men and women? I'm waaaaaaaaay cheap. I usually won't buy any jeans that aren't on sale.

I'd PM brigden, I bet his advice would actually be more sound.

If you are serious about this, I'd recommend you start reading Style Forum at the minimum.

Damn, if you come out with some nice baggy black jeans, then I'm interested. Around where I live, there aren't black jeans that are reasonably priced.

I buy my jeans at Banana Republic or Express. They look great, last forever, and rarely cost > $100. I'd say it would be very difficult for your boutique brand of jeans to compete in this area, but I know nothing of fashion.

Good luck to you!

Yea, we won't be directly competing against BR and Express. Also, it's not that hard to compete with stores like BR and Express because they only sell clothes in their stores. There are thousands of other chains and independent stores that would love to carry BR or Express but can't.

I don't know who would seriously pay $200 to $300 for jeans. Lots of jeans in the world for $15 or less. If I were to buy a pair of jeans for $200, I would be sick too! <insert barf icon here>

Anyone who spends $200-300 on jeans is probably a rich spoiled brat who doesn't have to worry about money and thinks it grows on trees.

Geez, no wonder they're poor.

What part of $25-$80 range don't you get?

I like -

"Switch"
"Hero"

Obviously, Hero is more male targeted...

Also, if you use one of my names, I want a free pair :)
