All lives matter BOOED! Only black lives matter.

Or you could just always keep chanting 'everyone should get their fair share' and hope that eventually people realize that you're referring to yourself.

Or you could just come straight out and say what they problem is, of course.

I have been to, but not participated in, several such protests in NYC. I have never once heard a single person argue that black lives mattered MORE than other lives. Only that they shouldn't matter LESS.

The problem is that the people who reply to Black Lives Matter with All Lives Matter very much believe that black lives should matter, just LESS than white lives. Of course they'll never say that out loud, but if you pay attention to them it's quickly obvious that's how they feel.

plus all lives matter is a dog whistle from the conservatives. Yes of course all lives matter but they phrase is used to take away the thunder from people saying black lives matter.

Because unarmed white people aren't being killed by the police. Why on Earth would a movement specifically dedicated to the high number of unarmed minorities being killed by police seek to include white people who aren't being victimized by the police to anything approaching the same degree? Is it literally just about including everyone in your movement so no one feels left out? Talk about political correctness run amok; can't even have a movement without including everybody!

Really?

You're obviously projecting your own racism on others.

This is simply marketing fail. If you want to fix a problem, you can't exclusively preach to the choir. By making the movement exclusive to one segment while actively excluding everyone else (banning people from meetings and involvement based on their skin color, making it clear not all lives matter etc), they've pretty much assured that they will achieve nothing.

Well sure....that's just obvious.🙄

Do you ever think in terms of people rather than conservatives and liberals? Serious question.

So Martin O'Malley believes black lives matter less than white? /facepalm

This fanaticism of going after people if they veer from the slogan of the week is getting ridiculous. A liberal democrat had to apologize for his audacious comment that all lives matter. It is ridiculous and you know it.

Of course not, he's a "liberal". Identity politics, it's all about the appearance of equality while making sure everyone is labeled and boxed up properly. Divide and conquer.

meh,...

we all know the accusation is retarded.

White and black people are getting killed for very poor reasons. All lives matter. not just blacks and not just whites.

TIL O'Malley is really a conservative and used his #WhiteLivesMatters and #AllLivesMatter dog whistles at a liberal activists gathering. Who would have known?

So this

/thread

This thread is a dog whistle for stupid "liberals", it's really drawing the left wing dumbasses out. Well played OP.

Side note: It's too bad the Republican party is so stupid. It will be immensely entertaining to watch the Democrats shred themselves over the next several years as the fruit of their identity based hate mongering catches up to them, but unfortunately it will mean the possibility of Republican fucktards taking the White House in 2020. I'm not sure which party is worse at this point.

What are their true intentions, specifically?

Eskimospy is the pro that knows everyone's intentions when they don't conform to his worldview by calling them "conspiracy theorists" or "right wing nut jobs" but apparently takes the opposite posture by anyone's intentions on the left side of aisle.

It's hardly conservatives' fault that it really just isn't a good slogan. It both lends itself to expanding it to all people just as O'Malley did, and if taken literally seems to directly imply that black people universally aren't valued at all which isn't true. A better slogan would be something like "Being black isn't a threat" which gets to the heart of disparate treatment of different races by police.

just as then critizing her for it is insane. she is was not saying black lives don't matter or white lives matter more.

All lives matter. Cops should not be going around shooting unarmed people. but meh if saying that makes me racist ohwell.

Of course they shouldn't. And you know that black people aren't saying "oh, we don't care if it happens to white people." But it's a fact that abuse of police force disproportionately happens to black people; the United States Justice Department explicitly said so when they presented their report on Ferguson. The problem isn't that a slogan doesn't happen to be inclusive, it's that people (and, let's be honest, it is exclusively white people) want to take race out of the equation when it's painfully obvious that race is a factor that absolutely needs to be considered when discussing the disparate police response to different communities. Yeah, there are white people who are victimized by the police, and it's not OK when that happens... but do we really need to shoehorn them in to the discussion about systemic racism in police departments around the country? That's like opponents of same sex marriage jumping in with "why don't you care about the polygamists?!" It's not the same conversation.

Then why not include everyone and say all lives matter? Does one life matter more than another? I don't know how using a singular race and stating it matters doesn't imply otherwise especially when frothing and spitting when someone states all lives matter.

Because "All Lives Matter" was only created as a direct insult to the Black Lives Matter movement.
