This was one of their daily deals. I'm guessing they "sold out" of the number they had available for the daily deal.
Thanks, early bird gets the worm sometimes. Love this thread, I'll keep an eye out.

Thanks OP. Went ahead and ordered one. Have been using an old Droid 2 as a media player for my toddler's bed room, planning to replace it with this as the old phone is less than reliable.

Yeah, its great for that along with offline maps. Nokia maps works great, and even the small memory is plenty for downloading a lot of state maps.

Battery yes, it is just me or is the guy whispering or talking very softly?

Wow, I hit that link yesterday and clicked the maximize icon and my desktop immediately/spontaneously restarted!!! Serious system error, said Windows, when finished rebooting. o_O I'm way overdue to rebuild that system, it's running XP, the mobo won't even run Windows 7!

Edit: Watched from one of my Win7 laptops. Voice OK. He said getting the back off is "tricky." Hard to know how good you can get at that, I can get the back off my 520 in 5 seconds or less. The battery for the 635 is a lot bigger than the 520's, I can see that in the video. Likely, battery life is also a lot greater.

I installed an app the other day and it said I had to turn off running in background for some apps before it would work, and I was offered all the apps that were running in the background and I turned off a bunch. I had no idea so many apps were running in the background, including a bunch that I've NEVER used! Later I went into settings and couldn't find where I could see what apps are running in the background. Surely there must be a place in settings to see that.

I'm wondering a few things. A few times my 520 has woken me up with noise. Does airplane mode turn that off? I know you can set quiet hours, but I'd prefer to just turn off all sounds because I don't want to specify sleep time, that can vary.

This shows how to do it:

I plugged my 520 into my Vista Business laptop today, and it wanted a driver, asked if it came with a driver disk. After poking around for 10-15 minutes I managed to see the phone (phone / SD card) in Explorer. Is there a driver I can install so I don't have to go through that again?

I've had problems since at least October seeing my 520 from my PC's. It's been off and on. Less often, the phone doesn't charge when plugged into cable from PC.

This week, it's been all but impossible to see the phone from any of my PCs. I was able just once to write an MP3 to the microSD card.

From this PC I usually can't see the 520, and when I can, trying to access it gives a spinning wheel (not successful in accessing). I've seen messages from Windows saying the device is faulty.

Well, I have to think it's the female plug in the 520, and I just called Amazon support and they consented to send me a new phone. I have to return the old one.

How can I get the new phone set up as the old one? IOW, how do I get my apps and settings transferred?

why don't they have deals like this for Verizon service?
I'd jump on it like a dog on a bone (everybody's using Verizon around here who wants good coverage). I guess the hardware doesn't support it.
