I actually like Prometheus. It didn't really catch me the first time I saw it, I was actually disappointed, but I watched the deleted scenes, and rewatched the whole movie again, and gained new appreciation for it. The movie was supposed to touch upon more philosophical questions of where we come from, what/who is god, what is the purpose of human race, can humanity become gods just like the Engineers that created it. The movie still does pose those questions, but a lot of that is only apparent after you watch deleted scenes. I'll definitely watch the new one on my home projector once it's out on BR. Also wish they didn't name it Alien, it's supposed to be a Prometheus movie.

I was hoping for something grander, inspiring rather than a horror movie of human impaling monsters. Been there done that, looks boring in that respct.

What exactly do you want from an Alien movie? An inspiring love story set in 1939 France between a Jewish farm girl and a German Alien lumberjack forced into the SS? Will he choose love or will his claws/the war tear them apart? Starring Channing Tatum as Alexander Von Clawsie and Emma Stone as Matilda Sorei.

I was incredibly hyped for Prometheus and just completely let down. I think I'll wait for Redbox/Netflix for this one.
Prometheus was such a big let-down that I can't really articulate in words. I actually feel a sense that I was betrayed or insulted by Ridley Scott. It reinvigorated my hatred of Damon Lindelof.

That said, the visuals were the only redeeming thing. You won't get the IMAX experience at home.

Again I was hoping for something grander, inspiring rather than a horror movie of human impaling monsters. Smart ass.

Can I buy the rights to your script?

Granted, I don't have a 4K projector yet (still too expensive and my current projector has a few thousand hours left in it), but our home theater is 120" with seating at 7'. It's pretty darn impressive... just need two more subs...

Pics!? are they in Home theater section?

I didn't see this, and you're not missing too much if you don't watch it. They released a "prologue" of sorts. It basically just introduces you to the cannon fodder crew.

No, but I have a picture on my phone that's a couple years old. Much of the room i's flat black and dark blue with acoustic panels, so it's really hard to photograph without a dedicated camera.

You can barely see the speakers - but trust me, there are five in this photo. LOL The couches and trim are different now as well, but anyway... you get the idea.

You derived that from Prometheus? I derived a non-canon b-movie sci-fi script that would have been better done by the twilight zone, that very weakly attempted to explain two things within the Alien universe, a) where they come from, and b) why the derelict was where it was. It failed miserably in both respects, and left us with a terrible movie, clung on to the side of the Alien franchise like the leeches that were alient 4, and the AvP movies.

Except Prometheus was brainless and non-sensical.

Hush!

Don't you know Damon Lindelof is a keen mind of structure and logicalness? LOL.

In all seriousness, Damon should have his Writer's Guild card removed and permabanned from anything in Hollywood. Have him instead go to India and work on a non-sensical dream dance sequence for a Bollywood movies. That goes better with brain.

I really need to get the dvd/ bluray with all the deleted scenes.

Is this a real deleted scene ?
Or fan art ?

If true, i get the feeling we where robbed from a good movie to make it more interesting for a broader group of viewers.

I have a vague memory of that scene, or something like it, happening. I can't say I specifically remember him being so .. agile? Wasn't the 'infected crew member in the bay doors' scene more of a 'zombie-esque' one? They still used a flamer.

Well, that is what i remembered too. He was a zombie. This was not in the movie i have seen in the cinema or on rental dvd.

edit:
For the record, i hate zombie movies. With the exception of resident evil and some old horror movie form the eighties.

Check out [REC], if you can handle subtitles it's *very* good as far as 'zombie movies' goes. One of the few horror movies I enjoyed/felt suspense from.

I agree.
I forgot about that one.
REC and as an exception on the rule, the sequel REC2 (I have it here in my dvd cabinet) is a great movie with actually a good story as well.
I was pleasantly scared for quite a few moments.

Correction. It does not attempt to explain why it was where it was. Completely different planet.

The cut scenes really do make it more whole and even gives more depth to some crew member actions. I have no idea why they were cut. That being said, the movie still has a bunch of holes and human stupidity in it.

Also, wow, that trailer gives a ton away. I almost wish I hadn't seen it. The old trailer was fine. I am a bit...disappointed that it seems to be going the route of a normal Alien flick. The whole point of this series was to explore the space jockey. I wanted something a bit more wondrous, but then, they attempted that with Riddick and I hated Chronicles..so who knows.

I did like the prologue (as a fan of the franchise). If the movie is at least as good as that, then it shouldn't be bad.
