Wow all those military police officers just for what 150-200 protesters?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6nWCMYkY-I&list=UUpwvZwUam-URkxB7g4USKpg
I don't see any military there.

Talk about Albuquerque having a corrupt system. This judge was arresting for raping a woman and was caught on tape doing it, then the prosecutors decided to not prosecute and let him quietly retire...lol

I mean, that whole thing raises a lot of eyebrows in multiple ways. Coming over for sex is ok, but getting the dude to go down on you is where you draw the line? I mean hey, different strokes for different folks, but still....According to a criminal complaint, Padilla told officers Murdoch had paid her for $200 sex acts at his home on eight separate occasions. Padilla claimed Murdoch performed oral sex on her against her will on two separate occasions, one of which she secretly recorded.
In all fairness on the first link they might not have had a good case. from that link

that said, the police response on the video was ridiculously militarized.
With how the laws have been written just the fact that the homeless man had a knife in his hand is enough justification to escalate to lethal force with the police. Not saying it was a good shot but that is the mentality that the current LE agencies have in the US. Everyone else that isn't them is the potential enemy. They are to quick to escalate to lethal force and the use of rifles like the AR-15 in these type of circumstances isn't called for. Also we keep electing politicians that feed into this cycle. Any politician(s) that might question what LE does is called soft on crime.
Exactly. All of the (mistaken) uproar over Trayvon Martin should have been redirected towards modern police tactics
Martin wasn't armed and Zimmerman was only acting as law enforcement in his own mind.
You don't find it troubling there are enough stories for a weekly thread more than the fact they are posted weekly?
More troubling is that there isn't any good news posted about the cops on here.
Most of you clearly hate authority,.. unless it is enforcing something you don't agree with.
It's a joke.
Respect will be given when they stop abusing their powers and killing innocent people.

Giving the whole truth isn't respect; it's showing you aren't bias.
No one is asking you to bow down and kiss the feet of a cop. But, all you (and others seem to be doing) is post about what bad things that cops do.
So, you clearly have a bias.

Mizzou,
You are absolutely wrong, go watch the vid again. The homeless guy says he is coming down and picks up his bags and starts walking complying, after a very long stand off type situation. Then and only then do the police decide to use a flash bomb on him? That makes no sense, they could have done that earlier. He didn't have a knife in his hand at that point, but when they did that it confused and spooked him and he turned to run away. He already was in fear that they were going to outright shoot him because they have been killing so many homeless people recently. The guy was already unconscious and probably already dead from the three live rounds in his back since he had his back to them. So why send the dog to bite his legs? Again, I just think the police are looking for an excuse to use their toys and hurt people.
#1 I believe I'm accurate on the dialogue between crazy hill guy and the cops. That is sufficient proof to show the guy is likely schizophrenic as they say.
#2 this standoff was going on for hours, we only see a snippet of it.
I do agree that the level of escalation appeared to be unusual. BUT you have to remember, you are not there on the ground, your blood isn't pumping, and it's difficult for anyone in a situation like that to think like a professor sitting with hours to contemplate a problem from a leather chair.
#1 Not complying to verbal commands. This means you have to get physical to apprehend someone
#2 Try to just physically handle them...unless you KNOW they are armed and dangerous, you might not want to do that, wouldn't be prudent.
#3 Try to use less-lethal options, beanbag rounds, TASER, OC spray, to immobilize them
#4 if you fear serious physical injury, use lethal force.
==----
Federal law says that you can ONLY use deadly force on someone who simply flee's when that person committed a dangerous felony that used the threatened or implied use of deadly force, and it is likely they will use force if they escape.
If that mentally ill man is guilty of that, then police can shoot him for simply turning away
=====
With him standing there, I would have ordered bean bag rounds (completley fucking worthless IMO) and try to OC Spray him from a good angle using the wind.
Try to surround his ass as best you can, flank him from the sides.
.......
I don't think they had a good option here. Any attempt to lay hands on the guy could have ended up in a slit throat. So he died because he's crazy, that's not the police's problem.
It's societies problem for making him live in the fucking mountains as a homeless person.
I post as soon as I see a news article on this crap. Guess what, it is almost a daily occurrence now Nation wide of cops abusing, neglecting and down right murdering innocent people and getting away with it. The news reports are daily now. Don't like it? Tough.. cause I want to keep it out there in the front so people don't try to sweep it under the rug. I am one citizen who is getting tired of the "no repercussions" for cops who do this, and the whole "not all cops are bad mantra". If they aren't all bad, then why do the so called "good ones" sit back and do nothing to force change in the departments? Why do they sit silently back and protect their fellow "bad apples"? That makes the so called good ones just as bad as the bad ones in my book.
the cops who did this

go to keep their jobs.
Just so we're clear, broad sweeping statements seem to perfectly fine - you set this tone friend, not me.
Yes let's just ignore the truth in that statement...![]()
You are labeling ALL cops, regardless of what they do (or don't do) as bad, correct??
Everything you posted is BS. They had tazers and bean bag guns on them. And only until the guy decides to comply they pump 3 live rounds in his back as he turns from the flashbomb? No, I am not buying your argument... and apparently many Albuquerque residents aren't either. Shit the whole nation isn't just look at the posts from most in the US on youtube and other internet forums.
