i cant believe that no thread on this week old story.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JwytoxMuk4U

I fail to see any threatening movement towards the K9. the dog was confused and poorly trained he ran back to the handler and the homeless guy was turning around when he was shot 6 times. then to let the dog lose on a man that was just shot 6 times?? wtf is wrong here.

I worked K9 when i was in the air force and trained working dogs as a hobby in shultzhund. from all the work i have done with K9's i can say that dog in the video is the worst trained dog i have ever seen. No way should that handler or dog should be certified for patrol work.

the cops think they are in a combat zone. the mentally is waste them, whats going to happen to me just a paid vacation.

wow 23 police shootings by the Albuquerque PD in 4 years? Thats huge for a city the size of Albuquerque

****UPDATE**** 12 Jan 2015

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Two Albuquerque, New Mexico, police officers will face first-degree murder charges in last year’s shooting of a homeless man in the hills above the city, a prosecutor announced Monday.

Keith Sandy and Dominique Perez were ordered to appear at a preliminary hearing, the date of which has not yet been set, said District Attorney Kari Brandenburg of New Mexico’s Second Judicial Circuit.

Sandy and Perez are accused of killing James Boyd in March. The 38-year-old homeless man spent the night before his shooting in a shelter, but when the shelter closed for the winter, Boyd tried to camp in the hills above the city, officials said.

Thanks for updating the video. This sheds more light on to just how bad of cops these people really are. They would have had more justification to shoot him when he was fumbling around with his backpack but even then it would have been a bad shoot. What the hell was with the flash bang? This was so not a flash bang incident. If anything it just riled up the cops so that him simply turning away from them made them shoot.

Oh hey, we don't get enough cops doing bad things threads around here. Glad to see another one popped up in the last few hours.

I am against a sticky weekly (hourly perhaps??) update. We need every other thread, or every thread (cross fingers!) to be about cops doing terrible, awful and bad things. I would even go as far as saying allow duplicate and triplicate threads of the same story.

Also, perma ban people who post any positive stories about police men and women.

Do you have a news feed for bad cop stories? Seems like about all you ever post.

Wow, I think people like you just like to complain. This poster just posted his very first cop post and already your trying to thread jack and troll.

They had a riot over the weekend in Albuquerque NM. This youtube is one of those who was there. The full length video of the homeless guys shooting is on his youtube video. It starts at 3:30 on the Video if you don't want to hear what the kid has to say. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYlX7rBJCqc

I personally think all of these type stories should make headlines. People should not be trying to sweep this shit under the rug. Those who complain "a few bad apples doesn't make the whole barrel bad" need to have their head examined because yes it does. The barrel becomes rotten to the core.

You don't find it troubling there are enough stories for a weekly thread more than the fact they are posted weekly?

With how the laws have been written just the fact that the homeless man had a knife in his hand is enough justification to escalate to lethal force with the police. Not saying it was a good shot but that is the mentality that the current LE agencies have in the US. Everyone else that isn't them is the potential enemy. They are to quick to escalate to lethal force and the use of rifles like the AR-15 in these type of circumstances isn't called for. Also we keep electing politicians that feed into this cycle. Any politician(s) that might question what LE does is called soft on crime.

Apparently the department has been under investigation by the DoJ for more than a year and the FBI just opened an investigation regarding the killing of the homeless man.

I apologized. But we do seem to love the bad cop meme around here and constantly have a nice confirmation bias that all cops are bad. I have relatives who are cops and have never done shit like this in their careers.

These idiots need to be punished.

Two things.

1. When a cops tells you to do something, you should do it. Especially with guns drawn on you.

2. The militarization of law enforcement baffles me. Those "cops" looked like mercenary's. Is there a cartel presence in that city? I'd feel like a tool if I had my tacticool rifle bearing down on some vagabond like that. For shame. These cops just plain suck at their jobs.

I believe this police department has a DOJ investigation going because they have killed something like 23 people in the last year or two. I saw something about them killing more people than the police depts of Chicago and NYC combined.

I think it is more than that. But there is huge corruption in their PD also. The FBI, and the DOJ, then some other investigative team have their focus on that police department. People in Albuquerque are just fed up hence the albeit small protesting that made news this weekend.
