Wow. *** Doc Shakes Head In Slack Jawed Disbelief ***

This question is for sane people only ---> "Are there any intellectually honest liberals in this forum?" I'm serious.

dmcowen674, nobody's 'jumping all over Gore as if he was the President'...where do you come up with this kind of stuff? I'm beginning to worry about you.

Please make an attempt to be rational or I'm going to have to call your Mommy.

If you can contact my mom that would be pretty amazing since she died from breast cancer six years ago.

Republicans are just lashing out at everyone, because they are in such deep sh!t with Iraq, they'll be minority party for a very long time. They have been wrong and blinded by ideology on pretty much everything, and Gore has been a visionary going back to his support of funding the Internet way back when, and now with the global warming. They've been ridiculing global warming for so long, and now that the public opinion is turning against them, they just can't stand it.

But it's my impression you see very little of what I post or why and that's what I would define as your problem. My pointing at the Bush Admin was intentionally as absurd as what I see as the point of this thread. It is one huge big fat non issue. Every one of humanities greatest personalities had and has flaws. For every lion there are millions of fleas. Do you want to be a flea or a lion. Do you want to spill Gore's blood or do you want to save the world. Try to understand something about judgment and relevance.

We should close the White House and get Bush an apartment, one with bars, since he likes the sauce. A man of Christ living in a mansion, geez what a hypocrite.

After intitially reading this thread I wasn't gonna post, this is merely a repeat of a previous post here.

However, I came back because the above thoughts expressed by various members struck me as quite odd. People seem to be saying that because he's rich it's OK for him to consume more than others, giant mansions and private jets are certainly not necessary but OK cause he's rich?

So, rich people are allowed more emissions than poorer ones just because of their money? It's all OK cuz he can afford to pay for offsets?

So I guess the USA, being the richest nation, is likewise allowed to have higher consumption/emissions than poorer countries?

Better get a memo on this out to the rest of the world, they seem confused and assert exactly the opposite.

Oh, and you might add in your memo since tons of USA scientists are researching global warming and raising awareness, the benefit more than outweighs the cost (of our emissions).

Big surprise. I really enjoyed him lecturing us common folk on fossil fuel consumption while he went from San Fran to DC and back to Los Angeles in 36 hours in his private jet, which I believe is a 757.

These people are all alike. Political elites who think we are dumb enough to believe what they are spewing while they consolidate more power.

Babs Streisand is another classic example. Tells people to go back to the 1930s and hang our clothes out to dry on a clothes line to conserve energy. While her compound of 2x12,000 sqaure foot homes and an air conditioned barn eat more energy in a day than most do in a year.

Johnny Travolta who feels it necessary to tell us to go gree flies a 50 year old 707 around the country by himeself.

The list can go on and on and this is why nobody should listen to politicians or celebrities when it comes to scientific debates. Because they dont know half of what they are talking about, usually lie anyways if they do know, and are all hypocrits to the nth degree.

no surprise after viewing the first 2 pages of this the left are defending the indefensible. It is ok if Gore burns 10,000 gallons in Jet A in 36 hours criss crossing the country, but bad if I decide to get an SUV.

Moonbeam...please surprise me sometime by making an intelligent comment that's relevant to the thread topic. What is it? You got your panties in a bunch because someone says something critical of a Liberal and you don't know what to do except to bash Bush the 28,215th time? You're obviously passionate about your agenda...but, in your passion, you have sacrificed your ability think objectively and rationally express those thoughts. Instead...all I get from your posts is hate. What a price to pay.

I suspect that what I just said went in one ear and out the other....so, tell me again, for the 28,216th time, what you think of Bush?

Going by this logic, any person who has sinned ever in their lives is not allowed to tell others they have sinned, otherwise they are a complete hypocrite and their points are completely invalidated forever.

Anyone who quotes from the Bible must use the entire Bible as their guide in life. Yes, that also means playing football on sunday is punishable by death. The Bible, then, must be taken completely or not at all. Murder is wrong must equate to being killed for playing football on Sundays.

So you see why anyone who says Global Warming is rubbish because Al Gore uses energy, or even hints at it or even uses this as an example, is talking out of their ass. What Al Gore does, himself, doesn't really have any bearing on the POINTS he is making. And by god, you can bet he's done infinitely more amounts of good in this world than the current president could hope to do in a thousand lifetimes. And while I think 'carbon-neutral' is bullshit, at least he's doing something about it. Now, JD50, you can move your "I don't really have anything to say so I'll just agree with this guy" "/thread" over here. Thanks.

That ridiculous statement was addressed by myself and Fern, maybe if you weren't so focused on defending an obvious hypocrite you would have read the replies.

Its a nice deflection though, anytime someone criticizes any conservative that is not running for President I'll make sure to accuse them of trying to Dan Rather someone that isn't even running for President.

Ed Bagley is the only celebrity who practices what he preaches in so far as conservation. Too bad hes not as influential as AlGore, Streisand or the others who burn more energy in a day than most of us in a year..

And going by your logic, a mass murderer can preach to the world about how bad killing is, because what the killer does himself doesn't really have any bearing on the POINTS he is making.

The problem is, Al Gore tells everyone else that they need to live moderately and scare us into doing it, while he himself does the exact opposite. This point is glaringly obvious to anyone that isn't blindly following Gore and all the GW zealots.

Oh, and Fern said everything that needed to be said, I was just voicing my agreement with his post. I'll make sure to alert you and the rest of the forum Police the next time I see someone else do the same.

Edit - I already found one for you, someone gave a  reply in this Thread go get em officer!!

If they're not repentant I would agree. Many would call it "pot meet kettle". And Gore certainly suffered from that b4 taking his recent steps, such as solar panels.

You're on extremely foreign territory here. The point of Christ in the New Testiment was to effectively supercede the laws of the Old Testiment. No more stonings etc. So, unless you're speaking to the Jewish, death for playing football on Sundays is N/A

So you see why anyone who says Global Warming is rubbish because Al Gore uses energy, or even hints at it or even uses this as an example, is talking out of their ass. This thread is about the seeming hypocracy of Gore lifestyle, not a debate on the veracity of GW. That's in other threads. What Al Gore does, himself, doesn't really have any bearing on the POINTS he is making. And by god, you can bet he's done infinitely more amounts of good in this world than the current president could hope to do in a thousand lifetimes. No you didn't. You answered with this strawman :

Hum... I don't see the point... SUVs consume much more gas than a hybrid does.... but considering it's a much bigger vehicle with much more power why shouldn't it?

It was a nice deflection though.

I better go search the thread on Ted Haggerty for your post defending him because he wasn't/isn't running for President either.

I'm guessing you were just as outraged at the critism leveled at him.

I think we burned more fuel in the opening days of Bush's folly than Gore will burn in many lifetimes. I think the nut cases in this thread wasting hot air on Gore voted for Bush. Talk about hypocrites. They waste the wealth of our nation pointing their fingers at Gore. If you supported Bush you should be living, shame faced, under a rock.

By the way, if reason were of any functionality in conveying the truth, the fools of this world would long ago have gotten the message. You teach with reason. I'll work with a mirror.
