And he pays for offsets so his energy use is carbon neutral. Do you, since you inaccurately attack him for not being 'green'?

http://gristmill.grist.org/story/2006/8/17/133652/848

Carbon offsets are such a joke.

I could go on....

The only joke are the fools that attack the messenger. You know you can't attack the message. See sig.

And when you can't debate the facts, resort to name calling and label everyone that disagrees with you stupid.....great tactic you got there

Edit - it is definitely worth putting up with the stupid sweeping generaliztions to watch you guys flop around trying to defend Al Gore.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this a blog by what appears to be a "left wing" person? Why are his statements accepted here as facts?

"First things first: I talked to some of Gore's people today, including Kreider, about the specific charges. Suffice to say, they're false..."

The article quoted by Drudge comes from the Tennessee Center for Policy Research which is supposed to be "an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization..." Does someone have proof that this is a right wing organization that is out swiftboat Gore?

How much energy has Bush wasted on his fools war in Iraq, I wonder. Think it's more than Gore. Think we would have more energy today if the Supreme Coup hadn't selected the fool?

Derail this topic because you don't like it?

Maybe if the messenger practiced what he preached he might not be under such scrutiny. Also doesn?t help that he gets such wide dogmatic celebration and publicity. Such things also makes him more of a target.

What exactly is your point? Bush isn't on a crusade to end global warming and isn't making movies about it, is he?

First failure of a religion is when the preacher does not practice what he preaches. Yours has been found wanting. He should change his tune or live up to his own standards.

Don't be so quick to agree, as I would use the White House itself as a homeless shelter too. This goes to all those who ignore the warning signs of what we're doing to the world.

Bush isn't on a crusade to end global warming and isn't making movies about it. Right, he's on a bender in Iraq.

If you read the quotes you'd know.

& where does it say how they obtained that information?

Hell if such records are public I'll go stalk my neighbors.

Gore?s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service (NES).

Why do I have to repost this quote, it's right there.

So you are saying that the electric company is going around telling the media about Al Gore's electric usage?

You know can call the power company, give them an address and ask for average energy usage. I've done it A LOT while looking at apartments and houses. It isn't that hard.

And this is somehow a point for Bush?

I don't get why people resort to this sort of defense argument. The argument against Moonbeam should just be: "off topic" and that's it.

Pointing out how Bush has total disregard for conservation both actively and passively is even worse than being a hypocrite!

Is anyone even paying attention here?

WHILE AL GORE'S PROPERTIES MAY USE CARBON PRODUCING ENERGY, THROUGH CARBON OFFSETS HIS IMPACT IS REDUCED TO ZERO.

If you are confused to what these offsets are, please do some research on them. They are simple to understand. If you are trying to say that he is a hypocrite based on Drudge's dumbass article you are either misinformed, deluded, or deliberately lying.

Yeah, and if he were to cut down on his energy use, rightwingers would make fun of him for that like they did with Jimmy Carter. Let's face it, the rightwing hates Al Gore, they are going to smear him all day long.

SO why then did Gores people say they were looking into buying green energy from the power company as recently as december? IF they were burying carbon credits, that would have been the answer and subject would have been closed.

Have you ever bought a home? I always check a houses yearly electrical/gas/etc consumption before I would make a purchase. It can help immensely with budgeting. These records are public since you are dealing with PUBLIC utilities..

Hypocrite or not, his message is right. America would also have been better off if he had been elected instead of Bush.

Gore has already been attacked for his usage of more fuel than he probably should be using - the fact that Drudge "broke" this story right after the Oscars is an obvious smear job though. Pretty funny to see ntdz lap it up though. I wonder why he is so worried about Gore?

And as I stated in my earlier post, carbon offsets are a joke. If he TRUELY cared about the environment, he wouldnt use all that energy in the first place. Leonardo DiCaprio is a good example of this. Flys commercial. Drives a Prius. Tries to be as green as he can. Al Gore's actions speak louder than his words.

Yeah, because Al Gore was so poised after he lost wasnt he? You know, with that mental breakdown and all he had after he LOST!
