No, you should throw him out on his arse the day he admitted to doing it and kept the high ground.

I have this prediction that Bill Clintons improprieties will follow you to this day and what the fuck do you know, IT'S TRUE!

So what Donald tried to grab them by the pussy, Al Franken grabbed a woman's breasts WHILE SHE WAS SLEEPING!

Of course, since you are on one side and can admit no fault what so ever, you will never get this but that is how this will play out and in the end, you'll lose.

No one cares about anything but optics... If i know ONE thing about US politics it's that it's not about policies or actions made at all, those are irrelevant, it's about optics, popularity and ideology and you can't claim higher grounds when you have someone who they can POSSIBLY drag you down with. It doesn't matter if it's right or wrong, it doesn't even matter if it's true at all, only the optics and the popularity contest matters.

Last thing that ever matters is whether any candidates promises are even feasible, you really don't give a shit about reality at all over there.

Personally, I think a lot of people would consider sexual improprieties as a generally minor reason why someone is unfit for office. Bill clinton actually is a great example of this. Whilst the GOP swirled in a tizzy the general public didn't really care that much and to this day Bill Clinton is still highly highly popular.

I think in general most people believe politicians across the board are engaging in sexual impropriety as a rule (just like its common knowledge NBA players cheat on their wives when they are on the road). Hearing about rumors of affairs in politics is quite normal and no one goes crazy over this. Usually there needs to be something else like blatant and fairly offensive hypocrisy or crime involved or some strong violation of social norms before it becomes a big deal for most politicians (the president of the US doesn't fall into the most politicians group). Americans are uptight about sex much more so that say the netherlands or germany but we're not THAT uptight about sex.

Trump's statement pissed a lot of people off but he was already unfit for office before making them. Trump didn't suddenly become unfit for office because of that one statement about grabbing lady parts.

The photo shows a comedian threatening to do that, not actually doing it. Your statement is FAR from being concluded as factual.

Yes it does, the STATEMENT however says he did.

Nothing is ever concluded as factual when it's not factually concluded with fair evidence but riddle me this, if he didn't do anything wrong... Why the FUCK did he apologize?

You see, that is an admission of guilt.

And it doesn't even matter, the optics matter and that is ALL that matters and what is worse, you KNOW this and yet you argue against it.

If that had been my daughter and the statements released about how he literally groped her are true (I would trust my daughter on this) I would engage myself much more but as it is... meh...

I really don't care for your wandering ideas as they are irrelevant, this is about optics and if he has any brains he will resign.

Oh and when a nipple on national TV makes children cry or when breastfeeding in public is banned but open carrying a full camo, a kevlar vest and supply straps with four mags to your AR-15 slung over your shoulder then you are not just uptight about sex, you have gone off the deep end of the retard scale.

That might be fine by one side, but if you want to win over anyone, you have to make really fucking sure that you are squaky clean or you can never use that angle.

You know how this works, one fucking idea about mentioning anything similar ever again and it's "whataboutism" bringing back Al Franken and no one cares that it's not nearly the same thing, the optics of the matter still look bad.

I can't believe I have to have this talk with people in the ONLY nation where this actually matters.

The photo speaks for itself, unless someone makes a statement saying he actually grabbed her then.
So which statement would that be, specifically?

No, the photo speaks for what happened before or after, the statement says that he actually did touch her.

The photograph clearly indicates he did do something wrong. The wrong thing he did was not groping, however. It was making an unpleasant, rather aggressive, visual joke about the possibility of groping. That merits an apology. But it's still not actually groping. Any more than a rape joke is rape, even if it's still a bad thing and would need an apology.

As for whataboutery and the moral high ground - it doesn't seem to me that having the moral highground on the topic makes any difference. Trump isn't going to resign over his pussy-grabbing comments, no matter what any Democrat does.

Just what kind of moral altitude would the Dems have to achieve to induce any sort of shame or recrimination on the other side? They could be at the point of needing supplemental oxygen tanks somewhere in the Everest death zone and Trump and his fans still wouldn't concede an inch.

So the question of what Al Franken's response should be stands on its own moral merits, political tactics are irrelevant. At the moment I don't think he should resign, depending on what else gets revealed.

That is not the point at all and anyone with any form of brain function realizes that what I'm saying here is that the Dems need to stay zero tolerance to keep the upper hand.

You are quite frankly a very retarde Russian bot, you don't work right at all since no one in his right mind would ever understand this as me saying that "both sides" do anything.

Nowhere did I even come close to mentioning this but at the same time, this is an aside... The US (the nation to the far west or east of you) has gone so fucking far that they are now institutiong new coal, banning renewable sources from development grants and are allowing dumping mining waste into ground water that people are supposed to be able to drink.

And here we are arguing about Franken being a fucking jerk towards women and should resign because otherwise this is what we'd be talking about while it IS what we are fucking talking about.

If you didn't notice, it's working.

Franken is undeniably guilty of sexual harassment, and if this one set of accusations is the extent of it, then his apology, her acceptance, and an ethics investigation seem like a proportionate response. If there are other accusers to come forward, then it goes from a comedian doing something dumb on impulse, due to our pervasive culture that devalues women's consent, to a serial predator, and resignation is called for. I say harassment because the photo qualifies as that, since there does not appear to be physical contact.

Should the Senate investigation turn up nothing more, and if he is allowed to remain in the Senate, he should retire in 2020 and let someone else run for his seat. If he truly believes in his causes, he can find other ways to help them. Lastly, I think Franken, the Democrats, and public figures in general should use this to start making people aware of the consent problem in our culture.

The reality is that people are flawed and everyone has things in their past which demonstrate moral failings. No one is perfect. If someone needs a spotless past to be elected, our pool of candidates is going to be very small.

Wait, what? Are you under the impression that the 2018 elections have been called out and that Trump is dictator for life and if he's not ousted now then whatever the dems don't will never matter?

This isn't whataboutism, this is about holding the fucking line and present a party that gives a fuck for the 2018 elections.

Al Franken should resign and a zero tolerance should be instituted, there is no better way to do this.

The first thing the Dems need to do is to ignore the "both sides"-ism that you, Hannity, Fox news and all the other Russian psyops-addled morons around here peddle incessantly.

There is no equivocating between Franken and Moore or democrats and republicans. They are not remotely equivalent.

PS nobody cares what you think because you can't vote. Changing your mind, or "winning you over" is meaningless. Stay in your lane and go back to your rants about how alcohol is non-addictive.

1. Duh, as in having to have it explained to you to get it.

2. No, you are about to make the choice of a lifetime in 2018, FIGHT BACK, zero tolerance against the bullshit means Al Franken needs to go or you are open for claims of hypocricy even if they are not well founded and I KNOW you are intelligent enough to get this so I REALLY don't get why you play pretend that you don't.

Again, OPTICS matter more than ANYTHING in US elections. Anyone with half a brain already knows this and you are one of those who know this perfectly well even though I do know you are smart enough to wish it was about ideas and actions rather than optics.

No, they need to keep a moral high ground since that is part of their idea. Second, I didn't equivocate jack shit, I just advised them to go away from the advise that you Russians would love them to follow and go with zero tolerance to clear the slate and attract everyone while avoiding the ACCUSATIONS of having people in their midsts that were valued misogynists.

But I'm sure they will go with you Russians advice and lose bigly yet again... That is how fucking stupid people are.

You claim that Dems need to force Franken to resign because otherwise they'll be the same as republicans. That's dumb, false, and both sides-ism.

You obviously haven't been following this story much because it's already been reported repeatedly that Tweeden is hannity guest trump trash and is being used as a ploy to support both sides-ism. Or maybe you're just dumb (lol, who am I kidding of course you are).

Figure it out retard. Franken isn't going anywhere, nor should he. Tweeden has been filmed "molesting" her coworkers repeatedly and her story is BS. You're just too dumb and british to understand.

I probably shouldn't be surprised that some here are defending Fraken's actions. Claiming that he wasn't groping here, that his hand wasn't on her chest, when it clearly was. The flak doesnt matter, if that's the case then a shirt prevents sexual contact too.

Not to mention that she claims he stuck his tongue in her mouth. Yet the same people who are dismissing that, are wanting Moore to resign over allegation with zero proof. There is at least some proof of these allegation. Claiming that Fraken is innocent but Moore is guilty it just silly. Just another hypocritical stance from the liberal left.

Defending child molesters and neo nazis is just another typical day of the week for trump trash like yourself, huh?
