i always found the rl to be a beatiful, simple design and the interior is excellent. it's too bad the price was a bit high.

Yea but the Cayman is a beauty. If I were a car, I would have sex with the Cayman. The RL has always been so blah. I mean for $5k more I'd rather be gettin' a Escalade an' be rollin' in the shiz pimpin' shot callin' ryde.

Edit: Wow...just priced a cayman on Carsdirect.com......ppl...go check out how ridiculous the options are. Porsche knows how to milk the rich peoples.

Part of technology also includes how cheap a company can make a compeditive product as well as keep up with all the goverment(s) standards and have a selling point. To some people power is everything, to some people the convinience is everything. Some people want both, and everyone claims to have everything. People are just sold easily, and loyal to anything they have had good experiences with. Some designs go hand in hand with certain driving styles, some designs go hand in hand with the companies checkbook. You'll find enthusiasts who get any make/model to any class of power, get any amount of milage, and have all the luxury in the world. I mean CMON! Gold Plated Pontiac Fiero!? Complete carbon fiber Civics? LOL... whatever is your fancy, its there. All the salesreps(and wannabees in the world cant change that...well, except convince the easy to sell.) I like all of my cars, but Im not going to defend the make/models tooth and nail to say they are great. Pissing contests are for kids. . . . . now tech. Thats a diffrent story LOL

Nope, can't see why the sales are slow on this vehicle.

But hey, as their ads say, "I'ts a Honda."

:p

That gutless V6 outpowers most other V6 engines ever made.

The 2005 model was a 300HP/260TQ rated and is extremely smooth. For some reason, nearly all Acura models dropped about 10HP give or take some on all their models for 2006 from 2005. Who else makes higher power out of a V6? The high performance model M3 is 333HP and they tweaked the living crap outta that thing already. Possibly some other brand new designed engines for 2006 might be getting close. I doubt any of them are SOHC though.

The V6 in the M35, the car so many seem to love, is worse. It produces less power, and gets worse mileage while it's at it. Sweet! To boot, the car is lighter than the RL as well. LOL

If you get the M35 AWD, the mileage just gets even lower.

And compared to others in the same AWD category, the RL is just fine for weight.

Sorry, Honda/Acura produce some of the best engines in the world. I'd rather use the V6 in that RL than most other V8s out there at the moment. Not to mention the Acura will hold its value probably better than all the other cars it goes up against, and the engine will live longer.

You really have never driven the M35, or you would understand why the engine is loved so much. It's called low end torque, and it rocks. That's what you use in everyday driving to accelerate from a stop, and that's what is going to give you the feeling of power. Noone is going to braketorque their RL to keep the engine in the powerband in everyday driving, so that 300hp doesn't do them any good. Infiniti could actually get away without the V8 because V6 has so much low end torque, but it has V8 available. Acura V6 not only lacks the low end punch of the VQ, it doesn't have a V8 option for those who want some more torque. It will continue to be a flop.

It delivers 10 less hp, but 14 more ft-lbs torque, so whatever. Also, the fact that neither the M35 nor the GS300 forces you to buy them with all of the options means you can get it much closer to $40k than the RL. The RL is nice, but for the price, there are better cars out there. Also, if you're going to spend close to 50k, most would probably switch to a v8 with either rwd or awd with a rear wheel bias.

I believe the 280HP M35 AWD beats the 290HP SH-AWD RL in 0-60 times as well. So much for the less power argument.

Yup.
M35 (both variants) is faster than the RL with less HP, and has better resale.

That "some reason" is stated quite clearly here

Not to mention the Infiniti VQ sounds awesome. My wife thinks the V6 in our G35 sounds very masculine compared to the V6 in Acura which is blah. The I6 in old GS300 was also very nice and very smooth compared to either of those two.
