What do you hate about shotguns the most?

1. Some dont have stocks...
2. Bad crap at long range...
3. Slow Firing Rate...
4. Lack of custom items like the M4...
5. Real Bitch to reload...

Shotty's pretty satisfying in CQC areas of CoD4 but it's not a primary focus of the game. It was by far my favorite weapon in FEAR. Triggering BT and blasting baddies to bits was some of the most satisfying gameplay I've had in a while. I've been whacked by players using the M3 in CS that were awesome, I'm not too effective with it in that game though.

can't think of any games where a shotgun is the primary weapon. R6: Vegas 2 allowed you to equip them and they were very powerful, but they aren't always practical due to the short range.

Shotgun in FEAR was awesome. Nothing really special or unique about it but it felt loud and powerful like a shotgun should. It was my favorite weapon in multiplayer.

I hate how shotguns are portrayed in video games...Halo being the worst offender. I don't think I'd use mine much for hunting if I needed to have the end of the barrel 3 inches away from whatever I'm shooting to kill it.

Swat 4 was the worst. Somehow shooting while moving would make the spread a mile wide, but if you stoof still, it'd only be the size of a doorway point blank.

Left 4 Dead, everyone uses the shotgun. No shotgun? Then you get called noob, shot in the back of the head and your medpack gets stolen 😛

In Halo you have shields + armor...

Where can I find a game where I can build my own house...that has a library with books about firearms...and ammunition so my character can research weapons...?
Maybe a game where I can build...a house out of shotguns...

Yeah, in Doom & Doom 2 you could basically play the entire game with just the shotgun. I also used the shotgun in Doom 3 quite a lot.

Fallout 3's combat shotgun was great, used it the entire game.

It had a most satisfying sound and could tear apart some foes however it was a bit weedy against bigger enemies and well... couldnt hit anything that was beyond 10 metres away.

Who can forget the shotguns in the Soldier of Fortune series? Especially the auto-shotgun in the second game?

Even a short burst would literally blow off pieces from enemies.

I'm surprised no one mentioned the n00b cannon from CounterStrike.

Shotguns are a biggie in any zombie game pretty much. Most recent examples include L4D as mentioned and Nazi Zombie mode in CoD: World at War.

Yeah they make the spread ridiculously large.
