Obviosly AnandTech is behind the times, I've seen others use seti as a benchmark too.
Look around on hardware benchmarking type sites, it's out there.
Anyway, it's no big thrill to seti but I'm buying a matched pair of P2 333's w/512k cache from Corsairpro for $40 shipped and replacing an old pair of 233's (one of which has apparently died) on an old server of mine. It used to do 1 wu in 25 hours, now it should do better!
If that machine didn't do some vital work it wouldn't be worth the juice to run it, but since it still serves it's purpose I'll spend a few bucks on it and increase it's power.
It should actually be a pretty good bump over what it used to do.
The 233's ran their cache at half speed = 116.5mhz
The 333's cache will run at 166mhz = a 43% gain!
When I have the time I'm planning on trying out my tv tuner in different slots. I guess the plan is to find one that isn't shared with anything and see if that works.
I also bought a USB scanner that I simply can't get working. I got it working twice, scanned two pictures. Now it says "Unknown Device" when I plug it in and it won't install as a scanner

:| I have no idea now how many hours I've burned trying to get it to work - it's infuriating.
