Well I just bought a stick of 512 kingston HyperX PC3500. I will see what this can do. If I like it I will get another and run this puppy in dual. I really want to break the 2 hour mark on a WU. I have one that hit 2 hours. I want my 0.4 angle ranges to hit that. COME ON!!!!! I would be VERY happy to be pumping out 12 WU's a day with this rig! Plus I should be getting my 8K3A+ back from RMA soon and I have a TBred "A" 1800 to put in it!

Very cool Mofunk, I hope you break the 2hr WU barrier ;)

How about this - does anyone think it could make a difference which PCI slot I put the tuner in?
Is it possible to make the tuner more stable in a different slot? Just something that popped in my little pool of grey matter last night, thought I'd get opinions here before cracking the case open again ;)

If it was the 8RDA+ I would say YES! Check your manual about which PCI slots are shared. I know with mine I was told not to put anything in like slots 3+5 (maybe just numbers off the top of my head) because they are shared with the AGP. So that may be something to check into.

yeah it's neat to be able to do 11-12 WU's a day with my rig :)

then i have another one that does 1-2 a day... SHEESH

hmm.... i keep hearing that seti like higher fsb's....

i gotta see if this is true

i am currently running 209 but i can run 218 (with more relaxed timings of course)....

i currently have a thread going that shows that as you increase your fsb but decrease your timings, apps perform the same... but if you can increase you fsb with the same timings then yeah, you get better results...

here's my thread
touch me

:)

enjoy!

how would i go about doing this???

i mean i can measure within a 24 hour period how many WU's i do at each FSB... but... i'm sure there has to be a better method than that...

I have been wondering this too. Plus there are so many variables that you would almost have to test this on a pc with NOTHING else installed and no services running. Because I could try with mine like keep track of WU's for 24 hours then change the timings and do it again, but my PC gets used for many different things that can slow seti down so it would not be very accurate.

Ars Bench Mark WU

Run this WU and check your times to find your fastest settings.

Just remember to not SUBMIT it to Berkeley for it will not be counted ... a DUPLICATE you know. ;)

hehe, can't let this thread fall.....
Anyway I am not sure what the problem was but my computer started to just crawl. I tried to reboot and it did not fice it. So I loaded the "correct" IDE drivers for the 8RDA+ and it did the same thing. So I relaxed the ram timings and it appears to have fixed it. Hmmm.. I was running 2-2-2-6 and went to 2-3-3-7. So we shall see if that was it. Plus I have that hyperx coming soon so maybe that will like 2-2-2-6 a little better. :)

WOW, those P4 3 gigers are getting very nice wu times. I would like to see that 3000+ with the FSB at 200 to see what that does time wise. Since my 1700+ at 190FSB is doing time like that, the 3000+ should be able to hit under 2hrs you think?

Nice!:D

Btw where did you get that graph from? (I've never seen THG use SETI as a benchmark:confused: is it something you've edited?)
