Thought so. They wont see a damned dime of my money voluntarily, now or ever.

Here. ******. Here. I donated $50 that I didn't have to the NOLA aid.

Of course it didn't help that NO's governor and LA's mayor didn't do their jobs. It didn't help with the media showing only the idiots bitching about racism in all this, either. Who wants to save a bunch of ungreatful dumbasses who refuse to evacuate, then bitch that their race is why they didn't get help, then go looting, rioting, raping, murdering, shooting at aid aircraft, etc? To the rest of the world, we look like a ****** joke -and that's what NOLA was. A joke.

The tsunami was a much larger disaster than NO. They aren't even comparable. wtf?!? if we were comparing how many people were affected by one compared to the other, NO wouldn't have anywhere near 13 million. Outside of that, the Tsunami took us all by surprise, and since then, there were a string of huge earthquakes and natural disasters, so nothing can measure up to the psychological impact of the tsunami. feel free to cry racism if it makes you feel better.

Please read some quick facts if you don't realize that it was comparable to tsunami (these are facts, research a little):[/b]
[*]The earthquake left thrice the number of people homeless as compared to tsunami's victims, Link (tsunami left more dead than injured, it's the opposite here, it left more injured than dead, and the living injured need more help than the dead). [*]The terrain is more tough, the tsunami victims weren't facing freezing temperatares and snow it is tough to drop aid there (some areas are only accessible by foot, roads are damaged and helicopter drops will just slide downhill). [*]It is not possible to move 5 million homeless people Southwards, to lower altitude areas.

Probably more than you think. AQ helps out the poor and needy. It's a successful recruitment technique.

As I've said above, this is not a time for this discussion, besides, no Pakistani was involved in 9/11, no earthquake victim was involved in 9/11, if you've forgiven all Westerner/Christians for what Westerner/Christian Timothy Mc Veigh did (Tip: Oklahoma City bombings), please forgive all Pakistanis/Muslims for what a bunch of Muslim maniacs did.

It's sad, but apparently race and/or religion has played a huge part in media coverage and relief aid from both individuals and governments. Not opening fire at anyone, I just want to create more awareness, please help in any way you can. I apologize in advance if I have offended you in any way.
You offer nothing to support this for American donors, so it's wild-guess flamebait.

From "When One Tragedy Gets More Sympathy Than Another"
(Link)
Private donations by Americans totaled $13.1 million for earthquake victims, according to The Chronicle of Philanthropy. In comparison, Americans doled out $1.3 billion for the tsunami victims and roughly $2 billion for their own after Hurricane Katrina.
And this fact actually argues against your wild guess. Americans had already donated 0.7 billion more this year for katrina than for the tsunami, yet you expect us to magically come up with an extra 1 billion in donations for the earthquake on top of that.

People in America are not rolling in money, and our government is running record deficits even before spending tens of billions to deal with our own disasters.

McVeigh was NOT a Christian and those involved in violent attacks such as 9/11, embassy bombings overseas, and other random bombings, suicide or otherwise, are NOT muslim.

Once you get this through your thick skull and stop spreading utter bullshit like that, the world will be slightly more intelligent.

First of all, that article (When one Tragedy gets more sympathy) was from NY Times, and it was probably written by an American (David Rohde). Forget about individuals' donations, what about the Governments' donations? As I've said above, 80% of the pledged aid was actually provided within three weeks of tsunami, it's only 20% with the quake aid.

And just where do you think the government gets its money to donate to all these countries that want to see us (America) DEAD?

From people like me.

And I ask again, why dont those countries donate to us? Like I said, if you talk trash about me and my country, dont come knocking on the Ladys door when your down and out looking for help. What goes around comes around.

I ask again. Are you a Muslim?

Who talked trash about your country? I talked about the general media coverage. As for aid from the third world to the rich countries, please read my previous post above (people from Pakistan donated, but their economy, their size is such small that you didn't hear of it, the whole budget of Pakistan is less than the budget of many American corporations.
I ask again. Are you a Muslim?
Yes, I am, and I don't wish all Americans to die because of so and so reason... neither do all Muslims think so.

Please do not reply with the same comments again, and I apologize once again if you feel aggravated by my message, please help by spreading more awareness about the need of aid, (and please read more about it if you don't realize how big it is, and how little aid/attention it has received from the developed countries, compared in context to their economy and their contribution to tsunami). Thanks.

Do you believe that Osama and all the other LOONIES running around blowing themselves up to kill others in the name of Allah are Muslim?

Perhaps you'd get a better response if you start over, without implying that broke Americans failed to donate out of racism or religious intolerance.

Consider the impression the topic summary and first paragraph give when read together.

Also, the article you pull the donation disparity fact from lists a number of reasons why it might have happened, most of which make more sense.

Yes, I've been to Europe a few times, my father worked in an airline and he's been to every city PIA goes, and I have myself been to a few in Europe, Far East and North America.
Have you been to Asia, especially the underdeveloped Asia? The people may not be as productive as the Western developed countries' people (because of corruption, the system, whatever), but most of them work more than 10 hours every day, 6 days a week, and get paid a lot less than thse in the developed countries.
