A returning troll

The Democrats can vote against it and still win politically. The American people will see this for what it is, a cheap political stunt and Bush's approval ratings will sink EVEN further, if that can be possible. 😛

It's a trap and setup by the GOP. $20 their version of the Murtha bill will resemble nothing like what Murtha stated yesterday.

Just more dirty politics from the GOP.

But, if the bill is written well (HA!...fat chance), this is a chance for the Dems to sh*t or get off the pot.

It's time for Democrats to grow a pair, and balance out the representation in the government. At the very least, I hope it forces Republicans to ditch this religious right they're pandering so hard to and become real conservatives again.

I wouldn't want Democrats having the majority either. They treat people right socially, but they've become too socialist IMO.

As suspected...it's a BS ploy by the Republicans:

Seems to be the resolution the democrats have been asking for....
How so?

Name me the Dems (and back it up with proof) that want an IMMEDIATE PULLOUT of all troops back to the U.S. (which I assume this resolution means). And I mean IMMEDIATE...not a gradual withdrawal.

You see, this resolution mentions nothing of redeployment. It's a ploy by the GOP.

There are many on the left that have been demanding our troops come home now for quite sometime now. I dont know why you are puzzled by this.

Then it shouldn't be difficult for you to prove your case.

I won't be holding my breath.

One thing, though, this measure does prove one very important aspect that the Dems have been harping on:

This administration and the Republican-controlled Congress have no exit plan. If they did, they wouldn't be pulling this stunt as it would contradict their exit plan which would mean that wouldn't be "staying the course".

Iraq Vote In House Tonight

now, we will get the names on record.

this will be an interesting vote.

Democrats stuffed their feet in their mouth and now the GOP is calling them out.

I hope those idiots (Repubs AND Dems) have the good sense to pass this.

me too. No more 19yr old kids need to die in that shithole country Iraq. let them people figure out their own troubles for themselves. they will never be civilized, and certainly have no desire to be civilized by the white man, Britain already tried that once before. So what in hell are we doing there?

I guess you have already forgotten a certain democratic in DC that has stated the IRaq is unwinnable and that we should withdraw. He seems to pretty popular with those on the left right now....

It is obvious it is a stunt and a sham that has no effect on the status quo in iraq they want to use as a smear.

Pelosi has this one pegged, dems should vote "present"

See bolded text above. And stop playing games. That's all the GOP and its lackies can do nowadays. The truth is foreign to them.

And here's what Jean Schmidt thinks of Rep. Murtha:

What a stupid, ignorant, and callous b*tch. I wonder how long she served and in what branch. Amazing she beat out Hackett. Then again, knowing the corruption in the Ohio election system, it's not surprising.

Somehow I can picture John Belushi coughing bullsh!t behind her when she says she didn't mean to insult anyone.

Murtha called for a phased withdrawal over six months, the Republican sponsored bill calls for immediate and complete withdrawal...

Are the Admin's supporters claiming that there's no difference? And if that's true, why not vote on Murtha's version of the bill, rather than substitute one of their own?

Just more of the usual forked-tongue routine from the Right... and an blatant example of the usual attempt to re-frame any issue in a way favorable to their interest...

This bill is politically genius by the Republicans.

Do you know what a 'Bouncing Betty' is ?

So they go about testing the water by jumping into the shallow end of the gene pool from the cliffs of Alcapolco ?

Why, are they afraid to vote their conscience? This should have the MoveOn.org folks jumping up and down, since it's what they wanted. They should be screaming to Congress to vote yes.

Go for it if you think you have the support of the American people on that. So much better to get your votes on the record. I double dog dare you.
