As the title says. I have tried many pre-workouts but no one really made me feel more powerful or gave me that extra push. They give extra power to my brain (the caffeine effect I think) but I never felt something special for my physical performance. I train regularly and I'm fine. I just want something to help me in fitness test days and competitions. I'm mainly talking about the 2-mile run.

Dark Labs Crack Gold or Undead king seems to be the strongest. Anyone tried them?

I want to hear your opinions. What really worked out for you? Of course I want real life experiences, specially for running. Thanks.

My daily driver for off days are Ryse pre-workouts - https://rysesupps.com/products/loaded-pre?variant=39842809839712
If you want something that will make your face itch if you are new to pre-work outs my goto for deadlifts is Exposed - https://nattysuperstore.com/products/exposed-pre-workout
It also gets the job done but contains your daily dose of creatine, which obviously ups the cost per scoop - https://gorillamind.com/products/gorilla-mode?variant=41531458813997

I have tried a LOT of different pre-work outs, these I can all personally vouch for as solid. Other brands mix poorly, don't seem to do much, taste bad or some combination of all 3.

Forgot to ask, do these cause you difficulty to sleep if you take them close to bed time?

I mean yes they can, but even when I take them when I do my work outs usually starting at 6pm I don't have any issues, but my work outs are pretty brutal. If you are going to take a pre and have a half ass walk through type of work out, then yes you'll probably have issues sleeping afterwards.

You mean if you do a good workout, it will consume the energy boost you got from the pre-workout drink and you will be able to sleep well, right?

I have a bad habit of doing my running after 8 PM, that's why I'm asking. And I really get tired after running like 4 kilometers. Thanks

Yes, the point of pre is to keep your energy level up or have a higher energy level to push through a workout. If you take and and don't take advantage of it you'll have a bad time trying to sleep.

Pre workouts look like Red Bull with creatine....

Caffeine is going to interfere with sleep. End of story.
Tell me you don't know anything about pre workout without telling me you don't know anything about pre work out.

So caffeine is not present in pre workout. Gotcha.
Your posting history makes it clear you arm chair everything and don't actually DO much, you are all theory, no practice. But please post some more about a subject you have no actual use with or knowledge about.

Is caffeine in the product or not? I expect real effects because the chemicals have real effects. If you thought I was arguing they don't work, that's a failure of reading comprehension, because that wasn't the point.

Nothing in your post is relevant. Even assuming I do armchair, does it change the nutrition facts and ingredients? Yes. Well, I must magical powers to have such an impact

You failed English or scored somewhere in the 500s for the SAT. There is no comment on effectiveness. A very limited scope related to the ingredients present.

This also irrelevant and another personal. You think I can't tell that you harbor enmity but can't express a logical or factual point? The guy also asked if sleep is disrupted; your answer is deficient in that regard too.

"look like". Defined as :to be similar in appearance to someone or something:

Yeah, genius. Hell, I wasn't even saying they were the same. But when one product serving actually packs almost triple the mg of 8.4 oz Red Bull plus 75 "delayed release", people are not going to just not notice the similarity.

Sure, someone won't have the same results in a workout with Red Bull subbed for whatever pre workout. But someone could use pre-workouts just like Red Bull for studying/work based on the key ingredient present.

I might go into special forces or even train and fail just to humiliate you.

Man, and here I just had a handful of almonds and a few Advil. Guess I was behind the curve :p
Who knows what's in that store bought shit? Johnny Harris is the latest to callout how stupid that industry is -

Black coffee is my pre-workout. I am not a runner though. I don't run, even if chased. For combat sports, martial arts, and strength training, black coffee does the job. Being in my late 50s I will take the ibuprofen before I go to bed, if I am training the next day.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I stick to the normal stuff. Pumping yourself full of caffeine and god know's what before a workout isn't necessarily good for you, even if you 'feel' good. Almonds and advil baby!

Hey maybe proof read your post before clicking that button, jesus christ.

Do you even participate in anything you comment on or just like to theorize everything in your head, post about it and act like you know everything? I bet you are great at social gatherings.

What "theorizing" was in the first post that triggered your brain? A theory requires more than three sentences. Two of which are unrelated statements.

I see no theories. Just comments.

I've done DIY work on my car, bought and eaten and Impossible Burger package twice. So even that accusation is a falsehood. That assertion is also a personal attack.

Is that all you got? One more personal attack and it's retaliation time.

I thought you claimed to have good reading comprehension? He asked if you theorized in your head, and then commented. No mention of a theory in your post.

And don't you mean your MOM's car?

For the two mile run the best thing is an actual running warmup, and also some dynamic warm up and exercises. And of course a good dump beforehand if possible. For general training it depends on the time of day etc. but I'd never look for energy in a bottle. Caffeine is about the only legal supplement that actually works. All this other stuff is just expensive crap and good marketing.

Caffeine before cardio as long as that's the only time you take it. Drinking coffee all day, like I do now, and you won't notice. Article some years back (subject to change) that it could increase endurance up to 15%. Back then, I felt good on rides even if my times weren't better.

Creatine. Quite surprised. Back to back surgeries, sat in the recliner from 9/2020 to 5/2021. After I got back in the saddle for a few months, my average time was 1:01 vs 0:57 before. Lost muscle, complaining knees, old. Stayed that way until 3/2023. Started creatine, 5g/day. By June, I was back to :57 ave. Hit 0:55 a couple of times last summer. Win.
