The healthy part of me laughs but the wise part of me is filled with pity. Like beauty, ugliness is in the eye of the beholder which means that poor poor MM has a butt-load of ugly in two of the holes in his head.

That is because you care.... A caring soul like you seeks to help and actually, I don't really accept all that he posts is a real concern for your mental health, but, rather, it is an attempt to turn the tables so to speak.
"I'm rubber and you're glue... whatever you say to me bounces off and sticks to you"...

It does show he has a failure to see the forest for the tree.... or log as it were.

I don't think anything that's said on this forum can help you, because you can't help yourself. Anything said about this problem will be further met with denial, anger, and sarcasm, and I understand that. Best of luck to you.

I am just so glad that I started a thread where you expressed this. The truth is only for seekers. I believe that the way you move toward God is by loving Him as He loves you such that the lover and the beloved are unified by it. There is but one real truth and it has many names, God among them, but I like Love as one of the best.

The internet is a dangerous place, particularly ATP&N. I think you may be expecting alot from people to expose themselves too much in a place that is generally hostile to just about anything out there. I guess this may be partially why you often speak in riddles and use mirroring so often.

It is only on the internet that the superiority of truth can be spoken in the face of vicious authoritarianism and it is bringing revolution all over the world. We are in a race between the destruction our unconscious self hate will surely bring if we sleep, or the infinite future possible if we face up to our fear of our inner demons. The story of man's inner psychological journey from cowardliness to hero is revealed in many myths by the warrior who caries a sword and a mirror to confound and cut off the many heads of self deception the serpent wears.

I am a nobody. I can do nothing. I read what people post and answer as I can. I speak about the little I know that I believe. I can see some of the lies people tell because I used to lie the same way, unconsciously, without even knowing it. We are filled with unexamined assumptions that create a prison we can't see. Some of those some how collapsed for me by what I can only call grace. In one moment I was deep deep deep and far far away asking myself why I suffer. There was an external shock that brought me to the present and the simultaneous juxtaposition of those two stated moved tumblers into place the caused my suffering to end., instantly. I suffered and now I do not suffer. I'm still a nobody because what I have is plenty enough. I have no ambition, nowhere to go, nobody to impress, and nothing to gain. I opened a box and found a treasure. Anybody who wishes can help themselves. There are riddles to solve because the treasure escapes the seekers attention by appearing to be garbage.

Old MacMoonbeam had some garbage E I E I O

You understand little of this because you do not see you are looking into the mirror. You should see that by recognizing how deeply you want me to see. I saw what you see in me long ago but unlike you I saw it not only in others but in myself. I've been dealing with that crap so long I have muscles where you have flab. Just saying....

I wonder into P&N by accident typically when there is nothing in ATOT

I know you're facing denial, and it causes you to lash out. As I said before, best of luck.

I started this thread to deal with the question as to whether the rate at which humans can adapt to change will be overtaken by the acceleration of change, suggesting that the rate at which mental flexibility for change needs to increase and if the conservatives among us are going to be the ass that gets caught in the door that closed because they are too slow. You have expressed not only a complete inability even to consider the question but have additionally engaged in a totally fabricated attack on me. You are the very kind of mental defective that science has identified as being capable of rational thought for egotistical reasons.

And your constant attempt to shove your imbecility down my throat is an admirable demonstration of that. You keep coming back over and over to tell me that I an the one who has the problems that you, over and over and over again display. And then you tell me that I won't listen after I've told you over and over and with great love and patience that you're the one who's defensive. You are used to being able to bully and intimidate people by attempting to be the biggest asshole around but you have nothing to say. When it comes to the test of having a rational dialog you're empty. You don't know much and little could be more obvious.

When somebody hands you a mirror, smile. When you learn to do that, you will like what you see. Now say to yourself that Moonbeam is the most brilliant and wonderful person I've ever met, a luminous being who has expended enormous effort in loving kindness to make me see that he and I are the same.

Well if you wait 100 billion years maybe you will see some changes. Good Luck with that.

This may be of some interest to you:

Knowledge Doubling Curve

Buckminster Fuller created the “Knowledge Doubling Curve”; he noticed that until 1900 human knowledge doubled approximately every century. By the end of World War II knowledge was doubling every 25 years. Today things are not as simple as different types of knowledge have different rates of growth. For example, nanotechnology knowledge is doubling every two years and clinical knowledge every 18 months. But on average human knowledge is doubling every 13 months. According to IBM, the build out of the “internet of things” will lead to the doubling of knowledge every 12 hours.

Linear to Exponential Growth of Human Knowledge

A transition from the linear growth of human knowledge to the exponential growth of human knowledge has taken place.. According to researchers dealing with this information will necessitate the development of vastly more complex software, shareability, and artificial intelligence.

Author Clem Chambers, in a Forbes article on Amazon’s “Mechanical Turk” believes leading edge computer technology will be combined with artificial intelligence allowing collective problem-solving on a larger scale and the creation of vast amounts of data.

Somewhere I seem to remember a quote from Einstein to the effect that our technological development has outstripped our emotional maturity. I can't find it, if so, but I did find this by him, which expresses a similar idea assuming that out humanity is something we don't reach to our potential:

"It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity."

I thought of this because I have been thinking about the drag on social evolution imposed on us by the conservative mind set, the disinterest in and even fear of novelty and change.

If you read Kurzweil and his theory of coming singularity you will have been presented that the rate of change is accelerating exponentially.

I want to posit a theory that the conservative mind set and the rate of societal change are creating an impending crisis, one that even liberals will be challenged by.

Over the course of human history our cultural evolution, punctuated and at time regressive as it may be, has changed very slowly. Just one example is how long it had taken to change race relations nationally. Still a work in progress, as I see it.

As the rate of the accumulation of information and knowledge doubles more and more rapidly, the capacity to adapt to it becomes more and more pressing.

It is no wonder, I think, that the conservative brains among us as a result are starting to show signs of cracking. They can't stop or slow down the rate of change and they are becoming more and more terrified of an unknown novel future as a result. They have begun to throw themselves under the bus in an attempt to stop it via carnage. And the rate of change has become so rapid that folk who used to be moderately liberal are also feeling the stress.

But the technological advances that result from change bring with them tremendous economic benefits and in many ways increased quality of life, and conservative reaction increasingly threatens it. The conservatives among us are becoming increasingly anti-science and anti-intellectual.

If this is a reasonable explanation of the threat we face from our reluctance to evolve socially to change, what can be done about it.

Is there any way we can provide any sense that the future might be safe? How do you see the future. The situation I have presented here is that if the conservative mind set, the demand for stasis prevails, it will greatly decrease our capacity to deal with what the future will without any doubt bring. The thing that I can also see is another thing Einstein said. He didn't know what weapons world war 111 would be fought with but the one after would be fought with sticks and stones. That might just be a conservatives dream.

God, it's just so hard to be a liberal. They are so burdened by their obvious moral and intellectual superiority.

Get back to us when you find a way to repudiate the death toll of the Great Leap Forward, moron. Intellectuals are no safer than complete idiots from committing the most heinous of crimes against humanity.

I never considered you to be a person who would commit heinous crimes against humanity. I just see you as a person so sure that abortion is murder that you can't deal with all the ramifications of forcing women to bring to term children they didn't want to conceive. Should I change my point of view on that and try to get you before you get me. I thought I at lease owed you the courtesy not to lump you in with the folk who perpetrated the Spanish Inquisition, anyone of whom I have standing orders to heinously butcher on sight. But if you think you have something intelligent to say, I'll try my best to respond that way too. Oh, and kick me if I call you a moron. That would be wrong. I see you only as a person with a great deal of respect for life, just a bit limited in the way you apply it.
