did I mention that I love newegg? Ordered yesterday at noon, and using the $1 shipping method, it arrived here today at 2:00PM!

nice card. Too bad I just picked up an ATI AIW 9800 Pro w/all accessories(retail package) for $135 shipped from the AT FS/T forum 🙂 I got a great deal on that one!
It works great, upgrading from an old GF3 Ti500, hehe.

Are you guys using the latest official drivers or the omega ones?

Got mine today and working good so far. Came with everything pictured.

How noisy is this?

I can hear the FAN on my Ti4200 which drives me crazy and I'm not a gamer, just using it for DVI.

got mine yesterday. Came brown-box, with EVERYTHING! A/V dongle (not HDTV), remote + receiver, manual, S/W.
I will let you know how noisy it is when I get it hooked up, Rossman. what about getting one of these?

Thank you, how difficult is that to install? If it's as easy as installing RAM then I'm good to go, otherwise 😕

Dunno; I don't have one. Anyone?
there's a FW thread about it.

costs more and this is a hot deals thread

9800 has very similar performance to the 9700

edit:
the price on the 9800 Pro AIW has since come down to $120 + $1 shipping, making it worthy of mention in this thread

After the black "windows" loading screen, before loading the desktop, for a second I get a black window that has some either colored artifacts or white boxes in sequence. Is my card bad?

It seems to do 3dmark2001se for about 7 hours looped without problems. The card seems to play fine in Far Cry and Doom 3 without any problems. Is there any other test I might be able to do?

so the artifacts are temporary on bootup? Given the other successful results I think your card is fine.

Yeah it only happens right before the blue windows welcome screen loads.

Thinking about jumping on one of these. Can anyone verify how well the PVR software works? Is it free like TitanTV? I'm currently using a Leadtek Winfast TV card, and like it pretty well. Are the AIW cards supported by MCE?

This is a hot deal. I will not last.

Finkle did yours also come with the remote? I did not see you mention it.

How would I check the warranty for my card. Hope it has a 3-year warranty.

good luck, finkle

The AIW cards are not supported by MCE. There is a hack to get them working with MCE2004 (only), but given that fully supported (by MCE2004 and MCE2005) MPEG2 cards are $60 and $70 these days, why bother with this for MCE?
