Apple won't get my money for one because it doesn't have a camera.

I was really hoping for a camera + mic. Without the camera I'm gonna have to choose the Zune HD.

not sure if the zune HD has a camera either...i dont think it does quite honestly.

if they made the ipod touch with a built-in mic and camera, then that would have cannabalized every other model...and even the iphone im willing to bet (you can thank gay-t&t for that ). im guessing thats why they didnt add a camera/mic.

No it does not, but the Zune HD looks so much better to me than the current gen Touch, that unless they did something drastic with the Touch (e.g. a camera), I would go with the zune.

although it looks like MS is making it hard to buy the zune outside of the US... damn it.

No it does not, but the Zune HD looks so much better to me than the current gen Touch, that unless they did something drastic with the Touch (e.g. a camera), I would go with the zune.

Well, for me, neither of them appeal to me. If I had to choose, it would be the Touch since I use OS X, and am already familiar with the interface. But since i use my iPod in my car and want to be able to switch songs without having to look at the device... no go on touch screens

I'm just glad the Classic was not scrapped. I love my 6th gen 120gb. Looking forward to an iPod Touch in the 120gb range for less than eleventy billion dollars...

Well, next year it will very likely be 128GB at the top end, so $399

I know what you mean, if it's just music you want, the classic is better. I've already got a couple of third-gen ipods though (before Touch) so I'm looking for something else.

that said I might get a touch anyway because MS is being lame and obviously doesn't wnat my business with the zune (I'm in canada). and apple's better support of unicode is a big plus for me (for viewing chinese content)

I really want that OLED screen though... but it's not like the touch's screen is bad.

I just saw the article on Ars Technia. What gives with MS? It took them two years to get the original Zune here then they just decide we don't deserve the updated version?! They must be practising Cartman Economics.

it's ridiculous. They've been playing catching-up to the iPod all this time and failing. But NOW, when they finally have a kick-ass device that beats the iPod on a few areas, they don't even want to try.
