Darn it!

Well at least you guys get stocked OCed cards, I'll have to OC mine manually when I get my 8800GT next Wednesday.

According to FUD/Inquirer the new OC is just shader OCed, but we'll see if that holds when the cards show up.

This isn't quite as bad as when the 7900 series came out and the non-GTX versions beat the old 7800GTX @430MHz core and 1200MHz memory. Then the 7800GTX got a new SKU that was like 50% faster @550MHz core and 1700MHz memory, and it even eclipsed the 7900 and 7950GTs. Talk about confusing.

As for the preorders, you should look for local etailers if you are really desperate. I found one about 20 miles where I live and they said I could drive over pick it up on 10/31, only way I could guarantee myself one

I think that the 3870 fan is going to be dual slot. I prefer that design b/c my case has tons of extra room and I like having it vent the heat out the back of the case b/c my psu is below the vid card.

Yeah, that fan looks just like the crappy little one on the 7600/7900GT cards.

I hope they use a good, dual slot cooler on the GTS update.

the stock ones comes with CoH and has pics!!!

Found eVGA 8800GT's on newegg too. pretty much the same slightly differnt clocks. can't find a stock 600 mhz core though....

Ditto. I really like the dual-slot card designs. Since dual-slot cards came out a couple of years ago, I've not used many PCI cards anyway, so losing that second slot hasn't been a big deal. Dual-slot cards cool much better anyway. I hope the tiny fan on the 8800GT isn't a buzzsaw!

ARGGG, I am really really tempted to get one and not wait for 3870. Hmmm. I think what games are involved will actually come into play in my decision. ATI might market with Orange Box again, I imagine, which I already have. So far COH and NWN2 have been seen with the 8800gt.

Doesnt Crysis come out around the time of the AMD card? That would be sweet...

Ive already decided to wait it out till I see both of them in action.
