In the real world there is a very good chance you will have to be at work at least that early, if not earlier (my managers and I all arrive at work between 6am and 6:45am), so consider this good practice.

Because college is supposed to be the best time of your life. There are precious few years where doing jello shots off coeds until 3am, then rolling in the next morning a half hour late and hungover is socially acceptable.

BTW, work's at 7 for me. 8 would be nice!

Damn, there are some old motherfuckers in this thread.

Whom shall I tell to stay off of your lawn? The same people you want to tell about the good old days, I assume.

I went from a year of almost all afternoon classes (one 9:55 class last semester) and Fridays off to having to show up at work at 4:30 AM (waking up at 2:30).

Suddenly 8:20am classes don't seem so bad anymore.

Who says we made it to class in high school?

I guess you could call my job crappy...after all...it does involve visits to wastewater plants. if you work in software ot IT, yeah, that scheduale is doable. Any other industry....they would not tolerate it or the job is just full of old people who are at the end of their careers.

So if that's the case with everybody, why isn't the whole world on that schedule?

It evolutionarily makes sense to have different age groups be awake at differing parts of the day, and teenagers go to bed about the same time as old people wake up, with the middle aged in between.

Of couse, since nobody lived to 60 back then, things get a little kajinkered, but the fact is that teenagers make a lot more melatonin at different times than the middle aged, which is something you can't just blame on 'laziness'.

I had a test on multi-variable calculus two day ago.. One of the lectures of this course started at 8:30, and because the lecturer was a favorite, one would have to wake up very early in order to get to the lecture room and secure a sit. I remember waking up up as early as 5:45 on some occasions throughout the semester in order to secure myself a sit.
