Sweet Jesus.

Let's just say that I'm glad that our state passed a law permitting beers with an alcohol content greater than 6%.

This is a very hard beer to drink not because of the alcohol content, but because of the taste.

Ha!
Grow a pair.

You obviously are very young and do not have a taste for brew. If you think SR is good then you have a problem. The problem doesn't lie with the alc %. It lies in how the brew is processed. Im a home brewer so i do pay attention to the beers that I taste.

If you buy SR, you're not drinking it for the taste buddy.

I know it's not the best, but it's certainly not the worst and being a relatively poor college student with an obscene alcohol tolerance I have to budget myself according.
Sure, I'd rather drink a nice pale ale or stout, but I'd also like to have money to eat.

I'm just saying that it's not hard to drink.

I had a Devil Dancer triple IPA a while back. It was 13.5% I think. It wasn't too good either.

in a drunken stupor a friend begged me to bet him that he couldn't drink 4 40's of steel reserve in a span of 6 hours. he hasnt done it yet, but that money is in the bank.

this stuff will f you up hard.

just last saturday a different friend had 2 40's spaced out over the night and ended up injuring his ankle and stumbling around in his underwear. imbibe at your own risk imo

20 beers in 6 hours is not that hard.

None of my friends would be stupid enough to make that bet with me.:D

Well, they don't sell 40s of steel here.
I have on many occasions drank a similar amount in less time with various types of alcohol.

That would be equivalent to over 32 beers at 5% (Budweiser) or over 38.5 beers at 4.2% (Bud Light, Corrs Light, etc).

Edited to reflect incorrect %s.

No, I meant 20 regular beers. A 40 ouncer of 8% beer is about 5 5% beers.

32 beers is a slightly different story :D

Heh, my latest homebrew should end up somewhere around 9% ABV. And it'll actually taste good, and I'll have spent less money on it. :p

EDIT: what exactly is the NC state limit on beer alcohol %?

I agree... I tried one of these and it tasted absolutely terrible. It also gave me a headache. No thanks, I will stick to Heinekens, Coors Light and Keystone Light.

All I'm going to say is that I've woken up a few times completely naked after drinking more than 30 beers in a night.

I don't know, but it's a lot higher. All I know is that we can have the Samuel Adams with the really high alcohol content.

Waking up naked and not being able to find your pants is a bewildering experience.
