He quotes Q, as in QAnon, as a patriot... If that is not born out of the alt right crazy town of fox, breitbart and infowars, the_donald ETC that Trump feeds on? This guy was defn. a MAGA dude and his only gripe with Trump was that he wish he was more Trump.
Enabled by Trumpism? Check.

Dunno, seems like a run of the mill crazy guy to me. Quotes from CNN.com

His posts included criticism of President Trump
Among the many anti-Semitic social media posts were comments suggesting that President Trump was surrounded by too many Jewish people. "Trump is surrounded by k****", "things will stay the course," read one post on the Gab social media platform, which used a derogatory term to describe Jews. Another post, apparently intended as an insult, read: "Trump is a globalist, not a nationalist," Bowers said two days before the shooting. "There is no #MAGA as long as there is a k*** infestation.
He said he didn't vote for Trump
Roughly four hours before the shooting, Bowers commented in a post that he did not vote for Trump.

Very much this.

I wonder who will be the first republicans to take responsibility for this disease that they have unquestionably been culturing for about 5 decades now. I wonder if we will see any on these forums?

Given that this morally bankrupt system of belief is predicated on the avoidance of responsibility at all cost, hence the need to blame others, I'm going with: no.

In that way it's a perfect fit for Trump since he also has never taken responsibility for anything. Though in fairness I guess he literally can't comprehend the idea itself. It's like expecting a shark to feel guilty.

"tragedy" is a curiously morally-neutral description of a criminal act. Did you call 911 a "tragedy" and insist it had no political meaning?
Bingo!

... someone correct me if I am wrong but this shooter was not a MAGA Man.

Oh, yeah, of course! His bigoted hate was absolutely not encouraged nor triggered by Trump's lying, bigoted natavist rhetoric at all! 😵

"Several weeks ago, Mr. Bowers’s account posted a link to the website of HIAS, a Jewish nonprofit organization, which was planning a shabbat ceremony for refugees in locations around the country. The caption read: “Why hello there HIAS! You like to bring in hostile invaders to dwell among us?”

And hours before the gunman entered the Tree of Life synagogue, the account posted again: “HIAS likes to bring invaders in that kill our people. I can’t sit by and watch my people get slaughtered. Screw your optics, I’m going in.” "

We need armed guards everywhere in America. Every single public space need an armed guard that can shoot down the next Terrorist pod person who emerges. We can never remove the guns because that would infringe upon our Freedumb so the only solution is turn our country into Syria or Iraq and have checkpoints and armed guards everywhere.

Syria and Iraq have the most Freedumb in the world. Everybody gets an AK and an RPG.

In Trumps america you can't even buy an RPG. Where is the freedumb in that?

I’ve said it before, the President needs to choose better words. These maniacs have been emboldened lately that’s enough evidence.
Just seemed like other posters were trying to say this was another MAGA Man.

After spending a few weeks abroad recently the idea that America is now "great again" while other modern democracies enjoy better lifespans, more education, non-financially ruinous healthcare, good economies, and a virtual absence of gun murders seems questionable.

“We” Shouldn’t that be “You”?
You are not an American why are you trying to portray one?

I have friends who have recently applied for and obtained French and British citizenship and I'm so jealous. I'm considering trying to Apply for German residency but my german heritage is so far back I'm not sure they would be interested in allowing such a person into their country.

It's also smart to have multiple passports as an American because we are world famous for being assholes and morons (see the following post for a good example of how foreigners think typical Americans act)

So...black church shooting was thwarted (without needing armed guards) so a nationalist executes 2 black people at a grocery store instead. A MAGA Man sends pipe bombs to 14 Democrats, and another nationalist shoots up a synagogue.

Oh, but we're supposed to believe this had nothing to do with Trump, his deplorable rallies, or Trump calling himself a "nationalist".

Nope, this is just a bad hair week for America. Move along.

What you suggest is impossible. We just need a better President.

Don Jr follows qanon bullshit. To me it doesn't matter if he's confused as to trumps being a globalist or (white) nationalist; he believes in the same Q crap the trump crime family quietly embrace.

Can't we just have good thoughts for those people and talk about this sad tragedy? This is a terrible act of hate, period! Trying to politicize it is in poor taste.
Some of the adolescent level posts in this thread are really sad and some disgusting. Class...I hope you find some now.

Again, that oddly neutral term 'tragedy'. That word has specific connotations and associations.

Hamlet was a tragedy. A horrific outcome that nobody intended but which grew inevitably out of the initial situation and the deeply human flaws of everyone involved. Calling something a 'tragedy' carries an implication of inevitability, a partial suspension of moral judgement and/or a denial of any political meaning.

OK, even political events can be seen that way provided you have sufficient historical distance from them. (That was more-or-less Orlando Figges's take on the Russian revolution, a viewpoint I personally tend to like, having previously read lots of firstly pro-Bolshevik and then later anti-communist accounts - though I certainly wouldn't claim the 'tragedy' interpretation was the only valid one). Depending on how the Trump era pans out, I could imagine our whole era being viewed as a tragedy from some far-future historians point-of-view.

But a contemporary atrocity, involving human moral choices and political views and actions has to be more than just a 'tragedy'.

I’ve said it before, the President needs to choose better words.

That's frankly the tip of the iceberg.

Trump demonstrably lies at least once every single week. If it was about pointless things like asserting that he'd won Vogue's Most Winning Smile Award three years running, it wouldn't make much difference to situations like this (though it would still be bad), but the fact is he lies about things like saying the Democrats are funding the migrant caravan, furthermore he presents no evidence for that assertion, and he knows perfectly well the racial hatred he inflames by saying it. In terms of veracity, is there any difference between the US President and this nutjob who shoots up a synagogue? The President should be the epitome of American values.

My Jewish Republican useful idiot friends and relatives are hilarious. They are always bashing AntiFa, and when I point out to them that the guys AntiFa is fighting want them dead, they pretend like these guys with neonazi tattoos are just upstanding citizens going for a walk.

Just gotta wonder when enough is enough. I really still think that day is coming fast. The facts can onlyu be denied for so long and I hold hope that America hasn't lost enough of it's values to simply continue to overlook these massacres. Common sense gun law needs to happen soon, but we need to flip at the very least the house this cycle.

Enough will be enough when Senators and Congressmen ‘s family starts getting shot by lunatics of their own party.

Trump CAN'T dial back the rhetoric...his fan base will abandon him. As long as he can keep them afraid and enraged, he can get their votes. As soon as he tries to look like a common-sense politician, they'll abandon him and search for someone who hates what they hate. (unless they placate themselves with the thought that "Oh, Donnie still thinks like we do, he's just being muzzled by <insert your favorite group> the zionists, bankers, libruls, etc."
