I found that page. But don't we have to fill something out and send it in? Or do we just fill out the rebate on-line? Don't they need a copy of our receipt? Just wondering how this works....

Looks like you fill out the online form and then mail in the receipt seperately.

Cool, I thought this deal was dead...

Although the form off the website still has the old dates, I ordered the reader anyway. For $21 its a good deal!

I called 1-866-462-3943 and just got an automated FAQ system.
I emailed them also. No response.

Anyone have any ideas?

Finally got on this deal !

Now I am trying to get a head start on the rebate. The RebatesHQ form is asking for the UPC code and "Contact". For UPC code I put in 740853-672268 (same thing they asked for), but what do I put in the "Contact" box ?

i just put the hotline, help, or sutomer service number on the original rebate form and it worked...
i wanna get on this deal but im so unsure about the rebate... especially since its only at rebateshq.com and its not on the dell website... so if the rebate is rejected theres nothing u can do... and dell won't do anything cuz they never mentioned a rebate... sigh... keep me posted on the rebate... can someone call or something to get more info?

I was nervous about the rebate to and I bought the reader after the rebate was extended. I filled it out at rebateshq even though it had a different upc code. Well I just checked status and it was approved:

Promotion: $20 Mail in Rebate on Dazzle 6 in 1 Reader
Submission Type: ON-LINE
Date Received: 04/04/2002
Status: Processing Rebate
Status Detail: Your rebate is valid and is in the final stages of processing and should be mailed to you within the next 30 days

Got my reader today from Dell. I e-mailed Dazzle tech support... and this is the response I got:

Hello Pablo, AS long as you bought the 6in1 reader and it had the rebate sticker with it you have the right one. We were selling it for 69.99 with a 20 mail in rebate. We decided to lower the price for the unit for everyone on a permanent basis, so we have lowered it to 49.99. If you bought the unit at the 49.99 price it was in the wrong time frame. The ones that where 69.99 had a decal on the box that told about the rebate. The Company that handles the rebates has been informed of this and have been told to honor the rebate for anyone who sends it in by the new dat. I know its not the right rebate form on the web but that is the one they will honor so print it out and dont worry. Thank you, Mike

Not sure if thats good or bad! I'm going to submit anyway and see how it goes.

If anybody is interested - I used sandra to bechmark the reader and got 800kbps. With a PCMCIA reader I got 1771kbps with the same media. So its about 1/2 as fast as the PCMCIA reader... Also it says 'USB 2.0 Device' on the package, but it works fine with USB 1.0, although I wonder if it would be faster hooked up to 2.0. <shrug>
