XFX Black Edition 5970 - at that price, these should be in stock for a while.. Edit: Wrong, it's dead.

Powercolor 5970 in stock as well. lolz at the guy who bought it to play WoW TF2 and L4D2 @ 19x12

Haha I noticed that too! Just made me slap my head thinking about the amount of overkill involved when using a corei7 and 5970 for the Source engine.

Man, the 5970 is such a rare commodity still! I figured it might have let up by now, given the availability of all the other 5 series cards, but I guess not. Maybe after X-mas.

I guess some people are simply too busy posting retarded pics to recognize that I have my 5870 already here, in my machine... well, losers are losers, can't help them, can I? :p

Last warning. Lay off the personal attacks. In case it is not clear to you what those types of things are, I've bolded them above for you.
Next time will be vacation time.

Hopefully that applied equally to the guy who posted the baby picture, which was also a personal attack and is what baited T2K to defend himself.

The good news is Newegg has tons of 5850s and 5870s in stock, so maybe the drought of those is finally in the rear view mirror. Unfortunately, I imagine the return of supply will not result in a decrease in price back to old MSRP. Probably have to wait until Fermi for that.

prices will be back to normal, or very close to normal at the beginning of January. signs for that can already be seen. Newegg got Sapphire cards for 299$ which is 10$ down since last week. amazon got both Sapphire and Visiontek for 299 down. and we're still in the shopping season. after the shopping frenzy ends prices will have to go down.

Amazon has a Sapphire 5850 for $279.45 - down 20 from yesterday. I also spied a 5870 for $399. Yea!

Ncix ca now has them on as part of boxing day, bundled with win7. Very strange they have had none for weeks, but now seem to have enough to put on sale. Something was poorly planned.

Anyone have any reports as to what the hell is going on with the 5970s? First they're all listed on Newegg, but OoS, then there's only one listed with plenty of stock, then there's none, now there are a bunch that are all OoS.

I agree. It'll take newer cards or most other sites lowering their prices to get NE to lower prices to original MSRP. This is assuming supplies can stay plentiful. Hopefully competition will take hold and drive down costs again soon.

FOR AMAZON ONLY!!!

learned about www.eyeitforme.com

you type in the ASIN number for the graphics card (or any other product, useful for future SD hot deals) and the site automatically polls amazon for stock, you can choose amazon as seller, or third party or used whatever

anyway when the item is in stock (lets say you just leave the browser open in the background) the page sets off an alarm to let you know the item is now in stock.

(also good if you want a refurb TV from warehousedeals)
