This post shows how large the disconnection is between "hardware enthusiasts" and average gamers. If ATI's 2nd from the top videocard, from a brand new line-up, is
far from being more than enough, what videocard would be enough?
I'm sure he could reason his statement by saying that more than enough means better than 60fps in every game out with maxed settings and maxed AA/AF.
If the 5850 is really close to the 5870 in performance, what would that make it (the 5870)? Closer to enough? Almost enough?
And this is at 1440x900!
I'm guessing that two 5870s in crossfire should be enough for that res? Am I right or am I not a true gamer that needs to go buy an X-Box and take remedial graphics theory for dummies?
So what kind of setup should one get if they use a 1680x1050 monitor or 1920x1080?
sometimes people come on here for suggestions and you get these over the top answers that make you think that some people care more about having the best card or getting a better card versus just enjoying playing games. I know the OP asked which is a better card and obviously the 5850 is the better card (considering only performance).
