Operating margins of 15.2% and net margin of 13.1% are both below the industry averages 22.7% and 17.1%, respectively.

i.e. NVIDIA makes $15 on every $100 worth of sold goods. scandalous I tell ya

I think some people should decide if you are an employee/investor or a consumer because its VERY weird to see consumers cheering higher prices more profit!

I get it now. Somewhere somebody taught you profit (success) is bad.

They were wrong.

Look at that, a luxury tech company that's making money. Who would have thought? Honestly what is the point of this thread.

Nobody is cheering "higher prices". I mean you get your AMD products much cheaper because of nVidia now than last year.

So you see you benefit from the "high prices".

I see they pay 16% in corporate tax, they should just be not taxed and have no patents which would free up the market. Imagine generic Titans. Imagine drivers that don't suck.

Some will sell their own family and a little willy just to get green card. Even if AMD would pay them to use radeon GPU, they still go for nvidia.

Ohhh, and one more thing:
Nvidia cards expensive? AMD fault!

I never understood this company loyalty thing.

Nvidias current range consists of a load of GPU's with only 2GB Vram and a Titan with 35% more performance than a 7970 for 3x the price.

To purchase any of those in the last quarter doesnt make any real sense. But it seems the consumers keep flooding in.

No im pretty sure im right.

If its my company then sure profit is good. If i work for Nvidia then sure profit is good.

If im a consumer then profit is bad. Nvidia doesnt pay me dividends so why should i cheer higher profits?

Sure i dont want a company to make a loss but then again losses are good for consumers because it makes companies try harder and that means consumers win.

LOL, so it's 3GB VRAM or bust?
I'll let you know when I run into crippling VRAM problems..

Bigger numbers don't always mean better.

35% more performance - you have your reason why people buying Titan.

I think you don't understand this market: People want faster GPUs and not cheaper GPUs with free games which they cant even play with all effects because the GPUs are not fast enough.

And if AMD goes bust because they keep losing money, is that a win for consumers?

15% net profit for Nvidia and 15% net loss for AMD is bad.

I dont want to see Nvidia win at the expense of AMD.

I buy AMD because they are the fastest and cheapest GPU's and i dont want nvidia domination

To summarize, a company needs to work for nothing and their sole purpose is to use your money to create better and better products so they can make no money.

The 7990 is the fastest card and the 7970 owns the 680 GTX.

Im sure they are competitive.

I don't think the HD 7970 owns the GTX 680 and the GTX 680 offered a cheaper MSRP than the original HD 7970 MSRP of 549! Even the HD 7970GE doesn't own the GTX 680 and actually surprising the efficiency of the GK-104 over time against strong competition from the talents of AMD.

I hope you objected strongly with AMD's launch, where they raised their MSRP's by 50 percent.

I know I was personally attacked for offering this below and simply had enough and offered, " Go Premiums!"

Even though 28nm and the arches are substantial and significant, the price/performance was more-so evolutionary and incremental -- consistently offered for both parties.

Ultimately, the market decides, vote with one's wallet, offer a vocal view and share, have no problem with this as long as things don't get personal.

Work for nothing?

I know sometimes you post stupid stuff balla but lets be real.

Nvidia pays all its staff and executives bumper bonuses and makes 15% profit on top.

Profit is money you make AFTER you pay everyone.

Im not against profit but im not happy with record profits. Especially when their current line up isnt even that good.

What?

Isn't that a failure when you pay $1000 for a GPU and it gives you consoles framerates?
