I don't think the HD 7970 owns the GTX 680 and the GTX 680 offered a cheaper MSRP than the original HD 7970 MSRP of 549! Even the HD 7970GE doesn't own the GTX 680 and actually surprising the efficiency of the GK-104 over time against strong competition from the talents of AMD.

I hope you objected strongly with AMD's launch, where they raised their MSRP's by 50 percent.

I know I was personally attacked for offering this below and simply had enough and offered, " Go Premiums!"

Even though 28nm and the arches are substantial and significant, the price/performance was more-so evolutionary and incremental -- consistently offered for both parties.

Ultimately, the market decides, vote with one's wallet, offer a vocal view and share, have no problem with this as long as things don't get personal.

Yes i waited over a year to buy my 7970 because i wouldnt pay AMD's inflated prices. Neither would i pay Nvidia £400 for 2GB of Vram. Then i wouldnt pay £850 for the 690 GTX...

Just like i wont pay £850 for a 7990 when i can buy 2x 7970 for £520.

I dont think any of Nvidias products are worth the money and the 7990 isnt either.

There is no goal.

If Nvidia had an exceptional product this year then i would say they deserved the profit.

Truth is that Nvidia doesnt have any products worth their money. They are all over priced vs their performance.

The only way they could have achieved this is from overly loyal consumers who buy nvidia no matter what.

I think you don't understand this market: People want faster GPUs and not cheaper GPUs with free games which they cant even play with all effects because the GPUs are not fast enough.

Lets all cheer Nvidia for selling the 690 GTX for $1000 with effective 2GB of VRAM which means less than a year later its bottlenecked and cant perform as well it should. The 680 GTX which cant compete with a 7970 but costs more!

I got a 7970 for £300 which leaves the 680 GTX for dust over £360 in price.

I had 3 AAA games worth nearly £100 at the time. Net price of the GPU £200

I dont care what brand is on the GPU for that deal. This is a win for me!

Nvidia pays all its staff and executives bumper bonuses and makes 15% profit on top.

Profit is money you make AFTER you pay everyone.

Clearly you don't want a surplus of cash, you want to be operating on the break even point so everyone gets paid and the company stagnates while the investors make nothing and nobody wants to invest anymore.

Sure the 7970 is better value than the 680.

But for £300 I could buy 2x 660s and get more performance than your 7970 and get 4 free AAA games to subtract from the price.

AMD aren't the only company providing good value.
