The same chaps managed to grab a BIOS from an XFX Geforce 7800 GTX 512MB and the chaps learned that XFX card obviously clocked even higher than the specs, it's working at 580MHz core and 1730MHz memory in 3D, the throttle frequency is 500MHz core and 1730MHz memory

Since you can already download that BIOShere this means that XFX cards are almost available and that the company is just waiting for Nvidia's whistle to start selling them in retail. A week or two from now anyway.

I think a 580/1730MHz 512MB 7800GTX will very easily be the fastest, most powerful gaming card on the market.

I don't think anything else will even be close. Something to consider for your holiday buying!
😉

That graphics card alone probably costs more than my entire system... But hey, if you have the money to spend, more power to you.

You'd be wrong about that. I know what MSRP and expected retail are on this card, expect it to be very competitive. (especially given what it is)

I said in my original post "Everyone considering high end is going to want this" and I stand by it. You'll see very soon.

I've been saving a little + what I have in Pay Pal after selling my KO's. I hope they're not $700 or something crazy like that.

Rollo, you should quit talking about this. I get too excited every time I see some new info. Maybe I'll leave AT for a week or so. 😛 Well, fishing this weekend it is.

XFX- double lifetime warranty, lifetime for you and the guy you sell it to.

ATI- one year

To me, this shows a high level of confidence in the quality of your part on XFXs part.

Maybe, maybe not. The card is at the wrong angle for me to tell. Can you see any circuits that would only be on the 4500 and not the 7800 in that picture?

The GTX 512 does not have to equal the price of the X1800XT judging from the specs. It can exceed it. Price performance ratio has to be in line though..

Remember Rollo BBA cards have a 1 year warranty but cards built by their partners can have any warranty they want, ATI stated they lowered their warranty partially to encourage their partners to offer longer warranties.

I know Nvidia has been using the .09 process for their new chipset and supposedly lower end parts.

If they are knocking out 580Mhz I am wondering if this card is on the new process?
