5 Hour Energy is pure evil

Leros

Lifer
I needed to stay up late last night working on a group project. My usual soda wasn't doing it for me. I've had several friends recommend those 5 Hour Energy drinks. Being skeptical I drank 1/4 of a bottle. About 10 minutes later I was vomiting uncontrollably, I had cold sweats, and I was exhausted but couldn't sleep. Its been 8 hours and I'm still throwing up. Not only did I not do any of my portion of the project, but I'm missing school this morning as well.

PURE EVIL.

Have you had any sort of energy drink before?

I assume it's all the same stuff, sans soda.

Seriously? Isn't it just a bunch of B vitamins? I drink one every now and again, but it doesn't have much of an effect.

I drink sodas and coffee all the time in decent quanities. I've consumed multiple Rockstars, Monsters, Red Bulls, etc. No problems with those.

The 5 Hour Energy is different though. It contains a bunch of Vitamin B, while the usual energy drinks contain Taurine and Guarine and stuff.

Did you ask your friends ' I need something to get me out of this group project ' or ' I need something to keep me awake ' ?

1/4 a bottle contains the same amount of B vits as a large B vitamin tablet. You must have issues with B vits, not the 5 hour energy drink's fault. Never known anyone else who had issues with them, much less 1/4 of one

So is there any evidence that huge doses of vitamin B-12 actually gives you more energy? I've always thought it was bullshit.

I know B-12 shots work. Anything else... I have no clue.

The exact thing happened to me the first (last, and only) time I drank 5hr Energy. I was sick all weekend, it was awful.
