I can not allow actions that have ruined the way the team is suppost to be, go un-heard

WHAT THE FU?K IS GOING ON WITH TWO MEMBERS OF OUR TEAM!!!!

I am afraid that the team now has a problem with self worshiping hypocritical jack A$$ leaders.

We are here to lead by example.
To be the best team, (not in stats, not in numbers, and not on some webpage that has a bunch of numbers!!!!)

THIS TEAM HAS GONE DOWN HILL LIKE A BULLET TRAIN ON MNT EVEREST!

(Note, a lot of members don't need to read this, because you know you are good members and feel the same way or feel the loss that has happened. I am very sorry to have to post this, but I can't sit down and watch this happen any more.)

Before you post how this post isn't needed, or how it doesn't help our problems, or that I myself should get lost. Listen to this next point please.

Before most of you guys were members the forums were a little different.

They were very active with people asking for some help, or just questions on how to do things.

We had 15 or so people that would reply helping someone get up and running. They would always be different people that would help on different or sometimes the same question.

The posts would get off topic, but that was fine. This was a home, and we were a family.

(Nice little story huh!! )

This is not the case today, and I'm putting my foot down, and asking for your help to fix the true problem on this team.

The contest has driven us from family to a machine that is unhelpful in every way except one. We post web links to pages that will offer help.

We don't give a dam? about helping people face to face. We have nice little how-to's that solve everyone's problem.

WELL FU?K THAT CRAP.

We lost many good members of this team because of these changes. Then because stats got so driven we created mini teams to help the little guys feel more like members. (Never was a problem when we were a family). Now these mini teams grow out of control, so we set rules to deal with them. But that doesn't help. Now jo-shmoe who was doing about average is now feeling way behind and he knows that he can't do anything about it.

They stop posting here because they feel less and less like a team. Or that what they have done doesn't count as much anymore.

RAY, I have a script that automates what you do. And I remember writing it saying. "boy how great, Ray won't have to do mile stone markers anymore!" Then I realized, if it's just a page I go to to see who is doing well, then I will only check it when I know I will hit a marker. I won't see the post, and I won't say. Boy Jo-Shmoe, you have done great in the past little bit.

This makes a HUGE difference in the way our team feels.

My point is that if we become TOO automated, we loose what made this team great.

I know many people wanted to leave after we became number one. And the reason for that was because we complete an obligation. We were only staying to help finish what we started. This wasn't fun anymore, but a job, a contract that we were just counting the days on.

I don't like that feeling. And if you don't feel it, then just you wait and let the team continue without any changes. You too will feel that missing part in your gut, and once it's gone, getting it back is hard to do.

A long time and (hopefully) well respected member of Team AnandTech. The Team that made me become better, and want to help more people become better too.!

I was just talking to Mech, about how when I joined, I remember you and your rack magicman. And that even if it ran NT, it was still the first crack rack. Then someone took one of your pictures and stacked about 40 of them, and posted the site.

That was funny. That was the reason this team was such a blast.
We had fun and everyone enjoyed it. We were about as organized as a junk drawer, but we had fun.

If you would like to provide some specifics that are troubling you, then I would be happy to respond to them. Please give me quotes, and links of where you believe I have said or done anything that you find offensive.

I can tell you one thing that I have NEVER done, and that is to attack my own team members without provocation as you, and a couple of others seem to do with alarming regularity.

Starting yet another thread to yell and scream accomplishes nothing other then to cause more of the same problem of which you complain.

As for the issue of mini teams and their alleged negative impact, I would simply point out that the DPC have eight times as many as Team AnandTech, and they are eating us for lunch.

This thread is here because I am serious about a problem I want fixed. This problem might not need everyone's help to fix it, but it does require us as a team, to work together to put this missing part back.

I don't care about numbers. This isn't about being first, or second or dead LAST. This was about the team, and I want it back to being about the team.

You people are ALL acting like babies, cut it out!

On the one hand, you have the mini-teams and hyper-competition. It's bothered me because I very single handedly work my butt off maintaining a crap load of machines to keep my keyrate.... but you know what? SO WHAT!?!?! Anyone from a BIG family knows that there are brothers and sisters that won't like each other all of the time, but that doesn't stop them being family!

On the other hand I saw TA slowly going downhill in the keyrate and wondered if we would even make it to #1... EVER! Then finally RUSS joined and brought with him a flurry of activity and excitement which had been lacking since MANDER's herd had been slaughtered. Why the &quot;finally&quot;? Because RUSS is an outspoken person and as such garner's much following and because of that I had long hoped he would join.... and so our keyrate began to climb again to rates we never had and we did take #1!


For those of you who are so offended by RUSS or DanC, you need to look at the bigger picture and realize that revitilization was needed and they delivered it and then some! You (all) and I weren't delivering, so we shouldn't whine if someone else did it for us; we should be grateful!

RUSS, as for you, I remember time when I used to be absolutely AMAZED by you because no matter WHAT, you would never say a negative thing or in any way engage in flames or flame wars with people... many times not even acknowledging the negatives. I held you in a spot of GREAT esteem for that self-control and always read your posts with extra respect because I felt you were a man of fewer, but more important and more carefully chosen words. I would encourage you to recapture that... it is a rare and precious comodity.

It's after 4AM... I couldn't sleep and so got out of bed and decided to read the forums.... what I found sickened me! I don't ask for much around here, but I would be greatly honored if this is the last post to this thread. LET IT DIE or decide that we will start to feed off of ourselves and destroy the team... it's ALL of your call... I'm in it for the long haul either way... I started cracking as a tribute to Anand and AnandTech and all the work he's done and I'll be here even if I'm the only one on the team, but having been part of this AWESOME machine, I hope that's NOT how it turns out!
