Russ,

True, you can probably replace our members with 10 new ones, but you can't replace my friends. :(

Thanks Osmo, PF, System, LD et al.

The situation could have been handled as it was. Take note who began the whole mess all over again, and kept the flames fanned. Nice job - now THAT's TEAMWORK.

Rendus, if you truly feel you must go elsewhere, we wish you the best.
We intend to keep right on building.

The notion that any group will remain the same is ludicrous. People come and go. Nobody ever won the superbowl by "just getting along".... "feeling good".... or hugging a tree for that matter.

Quit with the word "team" already. A couple of you haven't got the slightest bloody clue what the word means. Next time you come in to whine about one of us, remember it was you that kept the fight going.

to coin a phrase -

you are NOT TA, TA is bigger than you, TA is grander than you and TA is a hell of a lot more diverse than you.

You're preaching to the choir PF - you just don't realize it.

Rendus-

Please do not pack up and leave the team just yet, the only way we are going to repair the damage done by attitudes like the ones that have you discouraged is by counter actions. We need everyones effort and participation here at the forum to make this place what we know it can be.;)

Rendus-

Please look into setting up mIRC, or Bitc?X (? =h) and joining the IRC server for just a little.

the server is irc.teamanandtech.com

the channel is either #rc5, #thegamebox, or #teamanandtech.

I am heading to lunch, but I would like to talk to you.

Or, if you could, PM me. I would like to just ask you a couple questions if your ok with that.

Chris G.

(edit, forgot the server info :) )

DanC-

I will not sit idle by and take blame for causing this when I call you out on your poor sportsmanship. You do not have the right to crusade freely around here unchallenged while bringing disrespect to the team that was built by the hard work of many others way before you or I joined up. As far as "winning", if that is the main reason you joined Team AnandTech then perhaps you joined the wrong team.

Osmo,

YOU did cause another round. You, and LD. Both of you could easily have posted your feelings in the existing thread. But, no, you have to start whole new threads.

Why is that?

Rendus,

I will be sorry to see you go. However, if you expect me to simply take the crap this handful of IRC buddies is dishing out, and roll over for their UNWARRANTED attacks, I will not be fulfilling that expectation.

They talk a lot of trash, and level a lot of vague allegations, but you will note that NONE of them have provided a single example of where I have been anything less then helpful to any member who has asked. NONE.

As I said, I have never attacked any member of this team without provocation. They seem to feel free to do so any time the mood strikes them.

Please enlighten me with the definition you have in mind so I can decide for myself if I am too stupid to know what it means.
Thank you

in a conversation with another person. it came to my attention something that happened a while ago and what i posted. posted this may 4 200.

two quotes that seem to apply to someone here:

"Intolerant people are activly uninterested in learning about those they purport to despise."

"The pathology of groups so enclosed in their own circle of self-righteousness, or so locked into their own myths, that they can't listen, can't hear, can't learn from anybody outside themselves."

both quotes are by Michael Ignatieff in "The Warrior's Honor"

it was true then, still is true now.

System definitely hit the nail on the head when describing the clique that is keeping the fires going. Those quotes fit perfectly.

Bleep - There is only one definition.

i new that you guys would try to turn this on me. how typical. i have for the last year tried to find a middle grond with you people. i even asked russ to email his opinion to me, trying to learn what it is that he sees as the problem. i am trying to learn, you two, unfortunatly are not. and btw, i am still waiting on russ's opinion. the email is still there, i have had it up since i posted my addy. still waiting.

[edit] i have shown an active interest in trying to understand your opinion, you have not. i am also trying to learn "outside" my circle of friends here. now it is your turn to try it too. still waiting... [/edit]

Wow, this thread has turned from bad to downright ugly. Takes me back to my days of playing Tribes (Renegades Mod) in a clan (*IDK*). We were the #1 clan on the ladder for a while and everything was great. Then we got beat, badly, and we lost our position. Soon after the team infighting started and it eventually led to the clan disbanding. I haven't played Tribes in over a year. Hope that doesn't happen here...

Work it out guys, for the good of the team.

It's being kept on topic Osmo.

Since subtlety is apparently lost. It means:

"We're tired of it, drop it, lets move on"

That's what:
I like chocolate pudding means too.

DanC and Harrald,

You were kindly asked to stay on topic. While you disagree and want it to go away, members of your team would like to discuss it. Please, kindly stay on topic or ignore it. Thank you.

Ok... so none of you is capable of shutting up and cooling down. So be it. Act like children if that's what makes you feel like a success. I'm not picking sides and I'm not interested in rehashing the past to see who's "fault" it is that things are this out of hand. What I AM interested in is us getting back to business.

For goodness' sake, if some of you have something to say to others that is of a volitile nature, for the sake of the greater team and newbies at large DO IT IN EMAIL not on the forums! This had degenerated from bad to infantile.

This is the only other time I'm going to post in this thread. If you guys REALLY care anything about the team, take the fight out into the yard, but don't fight in the house..... please?

Dubiously,

Joe

Members of my team are busy cracking blocks. I have no idea what you're doing.

Joe - couldn't agree more. I'm done with this discussion. You people can bicker and rant all you like.

For about the 5th time... Osmo - you and System at this point are keeping the crap flowing.

I too agree that the forums have changed. It wasn't until quite recently that I have felt like posting anything. As a matter of fact I was hardly reading the forums before. I think the mini teams have had a mixed effect on the team. The people not on them felt like even smaller contributers to the team (w/o them we'd only have 1/3 of the blocks we are now producing). I also missed the daily updates that virge used to do on how we did for the day when our main competition was /. I really like the milestone markers that are posted now and its one reason why I come back. I agree that some help things have become automated with web pages that have detailed information on how to setup the clients etc, but at the same time it gives more ppl access to the information so overall its a good thing. Personally I am not intimidated to post topics in fear of being flamed just because I am showing my ignorance and need help about a subject.
I really do not see any big problem with the team, its members or behavior on the forum. It is still a friendly place that you can turn to to ask for help, post your assimaltions, and new people seemed to be welcomed when they post about joining TA. It is important to remmeber that not all change is bad and that change just means that it is different.
