1. About 2 weeks total maybe a little less, also factor in the holidays so maybe a little more.

I took my dead xbox to UPS Monday evening. I figure I definitely won't see a Falcon back, so I'm hoping for a Zephyr. I'd really like HDMI.

Well the new falcon 360 doesn't even come out till late August. I doubt you'll get one.

I just finished my finals last week so I was glad to have the winter holidays to get some playing done. Noo, looks like that won't be happening. And now I think it's gonna even take longer due to the holidays

I dusted off my PS2 and bought God of War. What a great game. With progressive scan turned on, it even looks pretty good on my hdtv. My only complaint is that the ps2 doesn't fill the screen.

Woah! I tried the towel trick today and it worked!! Actually, I got it working on my 3rd attempt, but nonetheless it's working! Hopefully I can get some COD4 gameplay tonight before it RRoD's again.

And yes, I already sent my repair request to MS, so just waiting for the box now.

Well, here's a story for those of you waiting on your Xbox to come back. I received mine today, and after initial setup mine RROD'ed within 20 seconds of actual gameplay. Yep, from box to broken in less than 30 minutes! They can't even send me a box for 3-5 more business days due to their system still updating from sending the last one. That's some incredible engineering!

I'm glad I bought a PS3. I'm increasingly tempted to use my Xbox (once I get a working one) to play Xbox exclusives only, and buy all the rest on the PS3. At least it works!

Here's my story:
My xbox suffered the RROD on 12/2. I called CS that night and received a coffin on 12/6. I shipped out my xbox UPS on 12/10 and it was received on 12/13.

I was told that my xbox was supposed to be delivered today, but when I checked the Fedex tracking number they gave me, it was for a package going to GA. I'm in VA.

I called Fedex and they confirmed that the address linked to the tracking number I was given was not mine. So I called xbox customer service and was told that I did have the correct tracking number, but it was for UPS. It starts with 7692*****. UPS numbers are 1Z******. Google correctly ID's it as FedEx. I was also told that my package was delivered and signed for by "Mark". That's not my name, nor the name of anyone I know and I had no delivery notices. So after the CS rep looks up the tracking number again, I was told that it was the incorrect number. I was told that my xbox shipped on the 14th and takes 6 to 12 days in transit. It's funny how my xbox got there in 3 days, but it takes 2 weeks to get back here. Oh, and they also do not have a tracking number for me.

After looking at the tracking today, it looks like I may get my xbox after all. The question is, who was lying to me? Did MS screw up with the address and straighten it out after I called, or did Fedex screw up and fix it after I called? Either way, it looks like I'm going to get my xbox back. *crosses fingers*

Well I just got mine back from repair.. Sent in a launch console, got back a refurb mfg 2005, no hdmi with a launch motherboard installed. Those looking for an "upgrade" via warranty repair, looks like you will have to wait a bit longer.

When my XBOX died, they sent me out a brand new XBOX that didn't have the HDMI on it. The manufacture date on it was August 10th, 2007 and I got it August 20th or so. It was hot off the press

If you send in a system without HDMI they will not send you a HDMI system. That's just how they handle it. Until there is no more of the old stock.

My Xbox died, not the RROD. What happened was it would appear to be working but there was no picture. The controller functioned and I could hear the system startup and flip through menus. Strange. Anyhow I decided not to pay $99 to fix it and instead bought a new system. I went out and got the Xbox360 Arcade system. I simply swapped over my HDD to the new system and called it a day. Got the newest version of the system as well.

It looks like my hard drive is dead on mine, because I keep getting an E67 error. What would you guys do in my situation? I'm shocked to see that the 20GB drive is still $99!!

Not that the system should be this fragile but I'm wondering how many people with dead 360's have it in an entertainment center. I used to have it inside the ent. center in the middle level. Between my receiver and dvd player with the glass door closed. It was way hot there so I just moved it to the outside on the top.

I had plenty of space left on my 20GB drive. I only used it for saved games, and demos. Besides they want $175 bucks for the 120GB. I must say no thanks.

The 360 HD has their "operating system" that interface /menu etc. so since there is no way to get that I'd assume you need an image/copy of the 20gb drive. When my drive died I found someone who was upgrading to the 120 so I just bought their old 20gb and swapped it in.

I bought just the HD for something like $20. I took apart and used my own/old casing HD cover thingy. MS charging what $99 for a 20gb is a joke.
