I found it on CNN, they are baiting them into get into arguements with each other and only giving them like 5 seconds to talk. And damn they are talking over each other a lot.

Edit: I like Pete Buttigieg a lot and I really don’t care for Bernie. He seems to have ramped up his angry old man persona up to 11 and compared to Buttigieg's wellspoken and thoughtful responses he just comes across as somebody hollering get off my lawn.

Edit 2: Jesus , Bernie is the left's Trump. :D

I like Warren as well but unfortunately I don’t know that she’ll get the votes needed to win. She’s very intelligent and would make a good president imo but I’m not sure she has the draw and appeal needed

If they stick to this narrative about immigration Trump will eat their lunch. There’s a couple on there arguing for sanity but for the most part I’m just hearing empty politicians talk.

She interviewer said "if we offer free healthcare to illegal immigrants won’t that exacerbate the crisis" or something to that effect and Bernie’s response is (yelling) "no because a poor mother walked a thousand miles she’s not a criminal so no" and one of the other candidates called him and Warren out about that being pie in the sky talk and how one of Obama’s advisors was said it would exacerbate the issue.

The immigration debate isn’t going to be a winning strategy for Dems to get in the White House, or certainly not how they are presenting it here.

He's like the boring (in a good way) older brother of Trump who thinks that Cracker Barrel is exotic cuisine and the last good thing on TV was the Smothers Brothers show. They're both the baby boomers wearing dress socks with sandals on the beach but Trump is more in your face obnoxious New Yorker and Biden is the guy complaining at the VFW meeting about how the Afghan war vets have nothing on the WW2 guys. They both carry the same baggage of 1970s era bigotry and sexism but Biden does a better job of keeping it in check although it does slip out in his periodic "every Indian person owns a 7-11" type gaffes.

This is like 2008 all over again. The cool person is a black guy but he'll never win. Except this time it's Warren and she'll never win because she's a woman.

I'm really impressed with Bernie's ability to counter punch.

I’m real late to the party and about halfway through watching but Bernie hasn’t really counterpunched anything other than his "I wrote the damned bill" comment. He’s yelled and thrown his arms up like some angry senile get off my lawn type a bunch but lacks substance in most of what he’s saying and a lot of the other candidates have called him out on it. Those are the real counterpunches and thankfully there’s a few that are doing it.

I really don’t care for this debate though, it’s like it’s structured to be contentious and not giving anyone enough time to explain anything in depth at all.

Man I’m not liking Warren after this. I thought she was more sensible but she’s just done pie in the sky empty promises. :confused_old:

So Bernie has a bad habit of answering questions that nobody asked. Buttigieg makes a salient point about something where he disagrees with something Bernie says, when Bernie responds it’s not to Mayor Pete or to the question or point he just pulls something random out of the air and starts railing against it.

If anybody has a link to watch the second nights debates I’d like to watch those this evening. Hopefully this one goes better. If I were the Dem party I’d absolutely disagree to that format anymore.

I listened to Anderson Cooper's post-debate, interview with Andrew Yang. Very smart guy and I think his ideas are just out in front of others.
I particularly liked how he explained how we spend so much more on education but we're nowhere near the top or the middle for that matter, with positive results.
He explained how this can be changed. And yes, it has to do with the parents, spending time with their kids, among other things.
He talks about AI and automation of jobs
Here's last night's video.

HAhahahahahahahahhahahhaha goodluck with that narrative....

Telling American parents to take responsibility for their own children.

That's funny. Goodluck with that message - especially when targetting lefties. They are the queens of this

That wasn't homophobic. I don't care if you have his cock in your mouth. Enjoy it. I'm just calling it what it is, cockpuppet. See what i did there?

Other than a poor attempt of humor by way of a homosexual insult, I did not. I guess you support members of the LGBTQ community until you can make a joke out of them. Typical Progresshevik, every group is a victim of the meany non-liberals until a negative connotation of them serves your purpose.

To be fair it is only a homosexual insult if you think that sucking cock is something to be ashamed of.

I mean really, UBI in and of itself doesn't really have a cost or department. That's part of the reason I like it over having 150+ programs. It's sending an automated check in the mail (or direct deposit). Every single one of our current programs has an entire department of dedicated employees were paying for people to sign-up, process applications, audit, approve, deny, appeal, investigate fraud, etc... All of them.

The most you would need government employment would be verifying new registration (e.g. immigrants) are the age they say they are. Aside from that, if you were born in the US and have your social security registration the government should know when you turn 18 to start sending the UBI.

As far as tax credits, etc... the only argument I would have against that is UBI starts @ 18 - vs. those tax credits are for kids less than 18.

That's sad they can't even talk about the huge fucking elephant in the room - that of which is some obvious uprising... I understand everyone right now has a hard-on for social welfare programs and free shit, but international relations should definitely be a bigger topic.

People bitch that UBI will decentivize work but the current mash of programs already does that because people want to stay under the threshold, and they have really crappy restrictions that keep people at the bottom. You have over $2000 in the bank? Nothing for you! You're at rock bottom? Too bad! You can't have cash. We're going to give you $150 for food despite knowing your preference would likely include other goods/services. I say implement a UBI and raise minimum wage to reach the higher reservation wage after a UBI is implemented. I think Yang would probably get taken more seriously if he first presented it at about half. People don't realize all the bullshit that needs to be spent by the government just to help a portion of the poor.

First poll I saw since the debates shows Biden gained a point and has a 14 point lead over the nearest rival.

Yeah Harris will walk away the big loser this week. Biden just needed to survive. He did. I would not want to be in the Harris campaign HQ right now. They really have no way out of this.

I dont think she stands a chance just because most media seems to be ignoring her. But i like Tulsi.

Yeah, well, they're nailing her with Assad. It's evident she wants the Russians to give her a boost.

I feel like Biden's going to be an automatic loss even if Democrats capture the Senate. He's going to squander it despite Republicans making it very clear they want to destroy democracy and mold the US into something akin to Russia's kleptocracy.

Yeah Biden is a loss vs Trump.

That's bullshit.

I've seen plenty of conservative parents do that - blame the teacher.

The only ones I haven't seen do this are the Asian parents who grill their kids to do good in school.

Lose/Lose. That's how I see it if he gets nominated. There would be a delay with the status quo intact, but then eventually after probably 8 years Republicans will probably take over again and complete the destruction. The wild card may be statehood for at least DC and possibly Puerto Rico. I think Biden was okay with that, but that itself may not be enough. The one thing I would like to see from any Democrat is to pressure the Republicans to reform SCOTUS and if they don't relinquish, pack the court.

Lol and how did you know they were conservative parents? They came to a NY public school in their matching family MAGA hats?

Yep and I haven't seen them get assaulted. It's a good neighborhood.

But they know I and my wife were assaulted. They said there are whackos everywhere and I should carry a knife. If someone would touch their wife and tell her to get the fuck out of the country, he'd get stabbed.
