DEAL IS OFF

This is the email I got from the company.....

Dear EF Member,

Thank you very much for using EqualFooting.

Since the time of your order for Energizer Industrial AA batteries from
Fastenal, we've noticed that the product description might have been
confusing. These batteries come in packs of 24 and are priced at $.43 per
battery, so the total comes to $10.32 for each package ordered. If you would
like to receive these batteries at a cost of $10.32/package, please email us
back and we'll have Fastenal send them to you right away.

If you've already received the batteries, or if you receive them in the next
few days and would not like to pay the amount listed above, please return
them at your earliest convenience.

Thanks again for using EqualFooting. If you need any additional information
or assistance, please do not hesitate to call our Advisor Center at
1-877-55-EQUAL (877-553-7825). We're available any time, day or night, and
we're more than happy to help you.

Best Regards,

Mike Cardinale

I got the same email. I like how they worded it - 'we' the customer made the mistake of misinterpreting the listing. I'm looking at the listing right now, and it clearly states $0.4320 /PK, and Energizer Industrial Battery, volt or Size: AA, Type: Heavy-Duty, 24 per Package.

Now let's just say that they are correct, and that the listing is for $0.43 per battery. I ordered "1" of these, at $0.43 total. Yesterday, I received a single package of 24 batteries from them. If I 'misinterpreted' their listing, and it was only for 1 battery and not 1 package of 24 batteries, then why would they have sent me a package of 24 batteries to begin with? It seems like their shipping department misinterpreted this as well...

At any rate, I'm not returning the batteries. I printed a receipt of the transaction, and it clearly shows the $0.43 charge for 1 package of 24 batteries. Also, just to be safe, I used a webcertificate, which only had $0.70 on it to begin with. This was what was left from a free $5 promotional Webcertificate I got almost a year ago. Therefore, I would really like to see them charge the additional $10 to it, since it has no real credit card tied to it. I almost hope that they send me another email on this - it will be interesting to hear their reasoning...

It surprises me that they haven't changed the listing at all - I would think they would have reworded it to show that it was per battery. Oh well, I guess they're just leaving themselves open to further pillaging...
