Didn't think I was going to watch it, but then got a text about the president owning some mouthy fools, so I turned it on. That was actually some speech, and I like that Team Treason's greek chorus of disrespect kept getting slapped down. I'd like to see a law where if you insult a president with the aim to obstruct an address, Sgt At Arms gets to collect your stupid partisan ass for a stint in a jail cell. Or a stable, if you're a certain shiteating horse faced Monistat addict.

Well done Joe Biden; having a literate, compassionate, intelligent CiC interested in good governance, rather than destroying institutions while being a Russian asset - I could get used to this.

Anyone notice Kevin McCarthy was not wearing a flag pin? Remember the outrage when the negro didn't wear his flag pin? Clearly Kevy is not a patriot.

The funny part here is that once again, the guy Republicans have convinced themselves is senile and demented has outsmarted them.

Definitely, although to be fair Huckabee deserves some credit for comedy too.

A GQP septic pipe in a dress spews how there is no left vs right now, just normal vs crazy. The book burners, history erasers and freeze peach enthusiasts say the GQP didn't start or want a culture war... hahaha

Well, if they were self aware and had even a shred of honesty, they wouldn't be repugs now would they? I found her comments on 'a new generation' and the need for change to be extra hilarious given what America told the GQP in no uncertain terms last Nov.

That was funny, even though I shudder at the thought of all the potential Bowling Green Massacres that could have happened were Dark Brandon to be so bold.

I thought it was a very good speech. It's just too bad that people have to get old. If Biden were 20 years younger he'd be ok but at his age there is a lot to question and have concern about. Yet what do we want? Do we want Joe Biden who is on the side of the middle class, or someone like Trump who is insane regardless of his age. Or, do we want a MT Greene who goes far beyond insane? And imagine MTG at 80 years. Greene will still act the way she acts now, but doing it homeless from a box living on the streets.

Old is something that eventually comes to us all, but insane? Insane lasts a lifetime.
So yeah, a really good speech but sad that Biden's body is failing him. And I do believe when people including democrats hope that Biden does not run, I think that's being a bit bigoted towards old people. And there is a lot of that going around against old people, it's not only Biden.

Damn, one of the best SOTU addresses in recent memory. The old man's still got plenty of fire in the belly!

good opinion piece on the SOTU

"I’ve never seen anything like it in a State of the Union speech – they ran at him like a pack of lemmings and, with a wink and a grin, he politely directed them to the cliff."

That’s right, in the past year, we have made great progress on our mission to transform America into a genderless, vegan nation grounded in socialism and a firm belief that there is no god.

Old Joe may stutter, make gaffes in speeches, forget sometimes, fall off his bicycle, wear depends, shart, forget he had TS documents, etc. but he's still miles better than trump and some of the idiotic Republican politicians. He held his own tonight.

Republicans will keep their base no matter what, but this can't look good to independents.

Fox will cut it up to make him appear senile. Conservatives and "independents" will accept it uncritically.
Flipped by Fox, immediately post speech. First thing Brit managed to pull out of his mouth was how much Biden slurred and took a lot of pauses. Neve let up the strain, always see what you want to see, then share it.

I just finished reading the annotated speech after watching a few of the videos of the hecklers so I had context.

Master class in politics by JB!!!

Highlight your achievements, provide the people with your vision for the country, and diplomatically eviscerate the MAGATS with words and examples of their own agenda, that one which they don’t have.
