While 538 clearly got this call wrong there were about 500 races this election cycle so if your forecast is properly calibrated about ten of these should happen.

My amazement over it happening is a forecast? The only estimates I recall making here for 2022 were all sometime ago, but focused on Dems keeping Senate and having a chance at House thanks to SCOTUS and Jan 6th. I would be surprised to see 538 get any of the others that wrong actually, if it makes you feel any better. The history defying fierce anti Trumpism at play here is the real story.

Oh by ‘your’ forecast I meant 538’s.

If 538 has its 2% forecasts happening less than 2% of the time that means they need to recalibrate their predictions.

A newfound inability to count votes on election day these past few years is steadily fueling R's calls to violence, amidst conspiracy that the elections are faked.
Admittedly nothing would quench their thirst for make believe... but damn this shit isn't helping.

Least Florida got their shit together after the 2000 debacle. Seems other States did not get that memo....
I seems more efficient, but anybody notice, it's really hard for Dems to win there. Oh, maybe I should start a conspiracy.

It appears to me that the Dems really got the vote out this cycle. I believe that was due to the Abortion Issue and the younger generation getting out for the College Debt relief promise. Also I guess the fear mongering about the end of democracy if the Republicans win control. We all gonna die!

I’m not sure what the eye roll is about as everything you listed was based on facts and history of attempts. But I’m guessing you suffer from righty logic where things aren’t an issue until the things the right says they are going to do not only happen but are only considered an issue if they are successful.

I wondered about the abortion issue being in play, and I was right. It was.
But again, it was not abortion, it was in fact women reacting to the government invading their lives. I would bet that a good number of pro-life women voted as a pro-choice woman in this election only because they do not want government interference. It's a woman thing, fellas.
Abortion? That's one thing... But the government interfering in a woman's choice? That is entirely something else. Something that the idea of offends all women.

Women feared exactly what Dr OZ predicted, that choice was up to #1 the women, #2 her doctor, AND... #3 the government. Dr OZ blew it big time not only for himself, but with suggesting THIS was the national republican agenda. The involvement of three, not two, but three in a woman's decisions.
By the way... just as in the movie, the great and powerful OZ was a big phony after all.

The eye roll was about this silly bull shit:

"Also I guess the fear mongering about the end of democracy if the Republicans win control."

I can only hope that the courts put a permanent stop to the College Debt Forgiveness vote purchase scam.

We will all get through it to live another day...

Current MAGA Fundamentalist Right Wing Zealots don't care about Democracy. Democrats are The only Hope between Democracy and Autocracy and they are fine with that. The scary thing is... Nearly 50% of The USA Population just don't care about Democracy.

Why? I'm sure "We will all get through it to live another day..."!

It's surely a good thing that a bunch of your population doesn't start their lives with massive debt? You're a rich country, you can afford to educate your people.

So again, something that’s already happened unsuccessfully and that is a talking point used by republicans running for office currently, is bull shit in your eyes?

It’s also telling that you think politicians, including the president, are buying votes when they do what they can to take care of Americans.

Have you always been anti American or is this something recent you’ve grown into?

And of course we will get through it. We got through it this time because of the messaging you are complaining about and because young people came out and voted.

I have found that a large majority of people that consider themselves conservative are never truely happy unless others are unhappy

I'd definitely like to see something done about the price of college rather than just having the taxpayers write checks, but I'll admit that I don't know what the answer is. Maybe remove the protections around student loans? Tell lenders to loan out $120K for a degree at their own risk. Universally "free" college education would be nice, but I'm not sure we're ready for how brutal those classes would be to weed out the non-hackers.

Well if fixing the problem isn’t achievable at this point in time, do you do what you can to take care of your citizens or simply kick the can down the road?

This loan forgiveness has never been touted as the fix to the expensive college problem.

I’ve thought this too. College debt should be erased with bankruptcy. That would bring the lender amount down which in turn would bring the cost down.
Not sure if it’s that good of an idea and we’d all have to change our views about someone getting a “free” degree.

Funny, I don’t remember you advocating for the courts to put a stop to the former president’s free money for rich people vote purchase scam, but here you are advocating against money for regular young people trying to start their lives.

i think that message will continue to go over really well with the two current largest generations who can’t buy houses. Keep it up 😂

They are complaining because 20% of the tabulating machines are not working. I would complain too if I had to wait longer to vote in the AZ sun.

Looking forward to following the results tonight. It should be interesting.
How the same States are able to fuck this up every election is beyond me.
Shit in Mass works pretty good. Paper-complete a line or box-scanner.
No touch screens, no bizzaro electronic ballot machine. No bullshit. Equipment always works.
Wife & I had a tiny problem this year. They moved to some kind of tablet to check people in to vote and people at the counter didn’t know how to put an apostrophe in thus they couldn’t find her or me. Quick check of the paper record and I was set. Delayed me voting 3 to 5 minutes.
