It is hard to believe that you are so dumb that you don't know the difference between leeching off the Government and working for the Government.

It is quite a stretch to say a Earned Government Pension is the same as a Government Handout to pay off a college loan that you agreed to pay.

its only a stretch for people who lack perspective and operate with bias.

Shocking, just shocking right?

The Republicans have to realize that at some point they have to actually have some sort of policy.

You sure about that?
Policy is the fabled American Dream, through deregulation, tax cuts, anti government and anti immigrant rhetoric. Blaming others.
If the past 40 years are any indication, it's a strong play.

If they are going to do anything, it is ramp up the crazy... and or pivot slightly on some issue. But certainly not the meat of the "platform".

Who determined that it was "earned"? Your compensation was determined in a similar manner to this loan forgiveness.

Why is a fraction of what they do for the military hard for you to stomach? Military gets TA, GI bill, career pay on first day (vs. say doing 2.5 years of aircraft maintenance at local cc), military preference (some states it's absolute preference), etc.. Supposedly those going to college work in officer adjacent positions or do they have more risk such as being "underemployed" (I put this in quotes because military has incredibly basic help desk and other entry level positions)?

Eisenhower, a five-star general, believed that military service should not entitle people to special privilege and that the social safety net created by the New Deal made many benefits redundant. He wanted to refocus the system on the severely impaired and the mentally ill.

Congress dismissed his recommendations.

In that era, sheer numbers gave veterans political power. About 40% of adult men were veterans in 1960.

FDR's belief was that veterans should have the same class of benefits as all other citizens, and he introduced the Economy Act in Congress only six days after his inauguration. This Act focused on government cost-cutting, in particular cutting veterans' benefits and pensions by more than USD460 million.

They’ll act all macho with their metal penis. But show their true chicken shit colours and piss their pants if they confronted by police.

No they won't because the police won't do jack shit to them and they know it. They'll howl like they all got tortured, but what that is about is them setting up the pretense for why they need to bring guns so they can threaten and intimidate groups that police won't protect like counter-protestors. Its so they can use the Rittenhouse argument should they end up murdering someone.

There is a county in Arizona that is refusing to certify the election due to their fraud claims. The thing is the county is an R leaning county. The state is suing them to certify by Dec 5th, otherwise they will simply not use that county's votes. The great thing is if they don't certify their votes, it would flip one to potentially a second seat to the Dems. Not sure if that is just state legislature or to Congress, I'll have to find that link from the article I read today.

WaPo link:

"Cochise County’s decision to blow past the certification deadline drew a lawsuit the same day from Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs (D), who was projected to win her race for governor. Her office planned to ask a court to compel that county to certify the election results. If the county refuses to do so, it throws into question the votes of tens of thousands of people, and possibly the projected victories of Republicans in a U.S. House seat and the statewide race for schools superintendent."

^^^ Gawd, I hope they take careful aim and shoot themselves right in the foot!

It takes a special kind of stupid to vote for a candidate who says they will refuse to accept the results of an election when (and only when) they lose. This has nothing to do with party to me. It's just that that's literally how tyrants get voted into power and then keep it against the will of the People.

December 5th is almost feels like a decade when it comes to courts or politics. My prediction is that they will certify the votes, and the county is just doing this to put up a show.
On a side note in regards to the Attorney General race... worst news of all.
Hamadeh is suing the state, and claiming the entire election in the state was wrong and should be thrown out.

If it is thrown out, the results of all races will be determined by the Arizona state congress, where both chambers are controlled by Republicans.

Looks like Cochise county in AZ caved.

Saw articles about that earlier. It's insane. They have zero proof of any shenanigans, but because they don't like the results, they're not going to certify it. The old "It's only fair if I win" argument.

And those republican election officials are bitching, saying they did nothing wrong, and only certifying the results because the courts told them to. It was your job. Do your fucking job! If you don't want to do your job, quit.

^^^ They even say so ... out loud ... in plain words .....

"In other counties, activists also spoke out against certification, though unsuccessfully. In Yavapai County, north of Phoenix, a woman who gave her name as Nancy Littlefield, wearing a hoodie patterned on the American flag, made clear that part of her objections were because she simply didn't like the outcome of the election."

And in cased you missed it, there is this fun bit ...

"PHOENIX — Former statewide candidates Kari Lake and Mark Finchem were ordered Thursday to pay attorneys fees in relation to an election lawsuit a judge deemed “lacked an adequate factual or legal basis.”

Judge John Tuchi gave Lake and Finchem 14 days to pay the fees regarding the April 22 suit, which asked a federal judge to bar the use of tabulation equipment in the recent midterm elections.

“Plaintiffs filled the gaps between their factual assertions, claimed injuries, and requested relief with false, misleading, and speculative allegations,” the ruling said."

Good. More judges need to sanction frivolous election suits. I hope the costs are high enough to be a deterrence.
