Is this the worst flood in NYC history? Sure looks like it. Right???

Guess a remnant of a Cat4 that barrels straight to you is still going to have a legendary amount of moisture carried with it.

It's too bad the actual intelligent people in this country have been warning about climate change for awhile, but yet again, the filth and shit that makes up the Republican party fucked us yet again. For decades.

It's pretty bad, but I think it's limited to just certain areas, like sections of Queens & Brooklyn. NYC & NJ are getting slammed. Parts of CT are getting hit. My basement walls are literally leaking water right now, like straight out of the middle of the wall. There's a small river out my front door lol.

Another shot of the NJ tornado (language warning)

RIP my basement. I'm battling two leaks tonight. My friend already has 8" of water in her basement!

NYC is getting out of hand. At least the trains are still running!! lol

I guess I shouldn't complain... I got water in my basement last night (MA) which seeped in through where the main water line and waste line penetrate the walls. Probably a couple of gallons total, and it just pooled in one area. Just finished Shop-Vac'ing it up and now it's drying.

Warmer air holds more moisture too which in an age of warming temps is clearly going to be at least part of the problem. Our severe weather is becoming more severe.

Got a lot of rain up here, just northwest of Boston, but no local flooding, at least from what I could tell. Also, feeling some general relief to live in a relatively new building with good drainage, not being on the first floor, and not being located in a spot that is prone to flash flooding.

Got a ton of rain in NYC last night..

My street doesn't usually flood but I couldn't see the street yesterday.. it was like it was a river and this never happened before even during Sandy.

Some of the flooding isn't a surprise, given the tremendous amount of rain we've had in the past 3 weeks. The ground is too wet to absorb much of the rain yesterday and rivers are already running a bit high.

The good news is the water will recede in a few days and everyone will pretend it never happened and nothing needs to change because sochulism is worse than natural disasters.
