link to georgia sending in new electors?
It's theoretical. The georgia state senators today seemed amenable to setting an emergency meeting to discuss that very thing. So it's on the table at this point.

They're just playing into Trump's game of flooding the zone with shit, at least for now. They're only providing the podium. I figure they'll fade before they act.

There's still one more chance to derail the election even after that, no?

Such an overcomplicated system you have. It's as if it was decided that voting was good, therefore more voting is better, thus they should pile on voting-upon-voting-upon-voting. You vote to vote for the voters then there's a vote to accept the result of the vote for the voters, then the voters vote, then there's a vote to accept the vote of the voters for which the voters voted.

It's down to 50 days. That could explain the fear in Rudy's eyes, and that could explain the 46 minutes from Donald Trump. Oh well... this will all pass one day and we can get down to the real problems facing the country, everything not Donald Trump. ;)

Right now it all seems to be passing like a kidney stone, which thankfully I've never experienced

At the $20k/day fee Rudy's charging the Trump campaign, he's down to his last $1 million of easy grifting before being retired

Now there's an image (and an idea for a potential cartoon?) - Trump as kidney stone, that the body-politic is attempting to expel.

Saw Kemp on Fox, looks like he's starting to knuckle under. You thought hanging chads were bad? Wait, till they start the "is that the person's signature" committees.

That wouldn’t be possible. Signature verification has been done and it can’t be redone because the ballots and the envelopes are separated to ensure confidentiality of who they voted for.

Then I guess they'll just have to throw them all out. Believe me, they are going there.

It's possible of course, but in that case the whole signature matching thing wouldn't matter anyway as they are engaged in an illegal coup and then who really gives a shit about what reason they give for it?

Yep, this is a coup, but it's the stupidest coup in history.

It's terrifying how many Republicans are playing along with Trump's idiocy. I have no doubt that if the election had been closer, they'd not stop him from stealing the election.

I strongly agree with this. If Biden had won Florida by the same margin GWB won it in 2000 there would be a coup, I would bet money on it.

Funny how people never learn, including Republicans. When this all first started they said 'he just needs a few days to get over it'. Fast forward a month and they are openly entertaining suspending the Constitution and declaring martial law.

And yet on here we STILL have conservatives saying this is no big deal. Funny how those people who claimed to love the Constitution all those years threw that out as soon as it was inconvenient.

Yeah, at this point the entire Republican party is either blatant fascists or useful idiots terrified of getting on the fascists' bad sides.

So the sweep of Pentagon officials makes sense now

Well a little more sense, its still not clear what the ultimate goal is here... Is it what they might learn if face to face?

This fits into three possible categories.

The first is that Trump appointed these morons way above their punching level to pump up their resumes, to shaft a couple former followers he is pissed at, and to f*ck up the transition as much as possible. IMO, the most likely scenario.

Secondly, we venture into the conspiracy theory territory. Trump did this-at Israel's request-in order to facilitate some sort of secret attack on Iran-pushing it as close to war as possible. Added side benefit is leave Biden yet another mess to clean up. Alternatively it is something Putin requested in order to weaken USA's military abilities as much as possible. You can have the best troops, equipment and officers but they are totally handicapped with obstructionist civilian leadership.

Thirdly, Trump had some valid, legitimate reason for what he's done. Snowball chance in hell probability.

Thinking like Trump: How does this benefit ME? Im not sure I see it. But Ok, if I cant have it no one can - fits his MO too, temper tantrum. Im with nr.1 as well and keeping an open eye on nr. 2, cause always expect the worst right? Nr. 3 would imply that he was accidental right about something, while possible, super unlikely.

The third seems so improbable it's not worth mentioning. The first is surely two distinct possibilities (boosting resumes or pure vandalism), and either of them seems quite likely. Trump is petulance personified. Everything about this sabotaged transition makes it very clear that the well-being of Americans is of no importance to him compared to his need to throw a tantrum.

The second is a bit too conspiratorial, I think, and furthermore, if going the conspiracy route I think it's better to blame "the Russians" than Israel, as the second carries "unfortunate implications".

Bubble did someone say bubble?

September Gallup poll revealed, for example, that 90% of Republicans thought Trump would win. It's not unusual that partisans believe their side is more likely to win or not. What was unusual was that the side who was trailing in the polls was more likely to believe that they would win than the other side. In this poll, for example, just 73% of Democrats believed Biden was more likely to win.

How Republicans live in a bubble, too (msn.com)

Do any of these civilian oversight guys perhaps also provide oversight of procurement activities? My mind immediately went to Trump pushing through emergency no-bid contract spending to his friends / family after having previously purged the defense inspectors general and now completely gutting all of the military civilian oversight and replacing with his cronies.
