Nerve wracking to watch this from the outside in. Trump, and his insane sycophants - like what the fuck with Giuliani, absolute madman - are spreading madness about non existent fraud.

If he can get enough states on board to turn the win to him, ignoring the voters choice, that is a genuine coup. Seems a far slim possibility, but that there are any GOP politicians on board is striking.

If it does happen on the outside chance, what then? Will people just accept it and say oh well we got robbed? There are 70 million fanatics who believe his crap. The situation seems to be the one that the 2nd amendment was actually intended for, but I doubt people will band together to stop him. It will have a very thin veil of legitimacy to it, but it sets the precedent. Elections will never matter again, just overturn the results if you don't like them and sieg heil Fuhrer Trump.

Hopefully it is all theatrics, but calling in those state legislators? He's trying it for real, and no one is stopping him as yet. They should impeach him again right now foe the voter fraud lies and blatantly attempting to overturn an election. Put the circus on that and run the clock out with that process.

yup, they are trying to delay the Michican certification:

Says here it is "The Republican National Committee and the Michigan Republican Party wrote to Michigan’s state board of canvassers on Saturday asking it to adjourn for 14 days to allow for an audit of ballots in the state’s largest county."

The state board, which includes two Democrats and two Republicans, is due to meet on Monday to certify election results and will have as many as 20 days to do so.

The Secretary of State’s office on Friday recommended that the state board certify the results, which showed Biden winning in Michigan by 154,187 votes.

Nothing about the two guys...

I see people are having trouble wrapping their minds around that a coup attempt is still a coup attempt even if it is very very dumb and executed by an incredible rogues gallery of nuts, charlatans, and grifters.

It's like that argument I keep hearing around here about how undeniable real fascism isn't actually happening unless it 100% succeeds at being full-blown, dictator-installed, firing squad fascism the very next day.

(the idea being that, nothing should be done to stop the inevitable, because only the inevitable happening can prove that it needs to be stopped. Yes, some dude says this all the time around here)

LOL thought they said they would proceed with the "normal" process.

Odds on this even working???
Those are different people, as far as I can tell the Twitter person there is confused.

The odds of this working are basically zero. If the governor wants she can replace members of the board at will. More importantly the audit they are asking for can’t be legally done until the results are certified.

He's right about one thing though. The world IS watching. Watching as he makes a mockery of this country and the idea of democratic governance.
If he manages to flip it... wonder who the world will be calling january 21st... Trump or Biden... I have no idea... What will the generals do?

So...any bets on when the big "call to arms" tweet will come?

At this point, I don't see how it doesn't get to that. Perfect end to 2020.

It will happen for sure. Right now I just saw a tweet that one of the Trump attorneys is on Newsmax accusing the CIA of getting the Dominion voting machines from Chavez back in the day and then bribing motherfucking Kemp in Georgia to use them. WTF. These people are goners and TENS OF MILLIONS OF AMERICANS ARE JUST AS MINDLESS.

He won't flip anything. They'll recount, sue, claim fraud & conspiracy but state authorities will certify their elections, the electoral college will cast their votes & Biden will be inaugurated on schedule.

I guess the strategy right now is to create so much legal noise that, and I forget what path they'll take, it ends up before the SC that just may sway in Trumps favor. I mean, event if it ends up at the SC, I cant see them siding with Trump ... any of them. That being said, a lot of crazy stuff has already happened.

I'm wondering just how many steaming turd lawsuits Trump's been flinging at the walls will make it to his stacked Supreme Court where he hopes his handpicked agents will give him what they owe him.

The most recent count I heard was 30 denied or withdrawn.
