Even if JP Morgan is wrong, it was still a good night for Democrats. Won a lot of elections in in-state races, some good initiatives were passed like felons being able to vote in Florida, marijuana, etc... The Senate was just totally out of reach, but yes, Gillum and Abrams would have been icing on the cake. Oh well. But it was a win for Blue last night that is for sure.
Economy matters less in midterm election. I think the Trumpian voters are also less likely to care about that. It may be similar to how incumbency advantage has shrunk or vanished with increased polarization.
There's still a possibility of a runoff with Abrams. But it's a shame if both Florida and Georgia go to Republicans. Those are more than just small states that we needed to break the gerrymander and dysfunction. DeSantis will be able to pick 3 judges automatically, and Georgia has no judicial recourse to stop Republicans in 2020. Luckily, North Carolina was set back on track to sanity.
