Was this the Blue Wave™, the Democrats flexing, their high water mark for the Trump era?
Hope Ruth Ginsburg retires soon.

Fully agree. Trump got a huge boost from the anti PC side. Biden being blunt and honest would nullify Trump's advantage there. Mix that with the Dems voting record on voting during pres elections, and its a great combo. I think Biden beats Trump easily.
Depends on who leads that charge and is most vocal. Trump could easily twist this to a second term.

It's part of the wave. Just wait until you see what happens when House Republicans can no longer hide the full extent of Trump's corruption. And of course, there's 2020, when there's a real chance the Dems will take the presidency and possibly the Senate as well. If they get all three... well, virtually all of Trump's policies get erased forever like the mistakes they are.

I have to admit, I also love the image of Biden and Trump squaring off in a debate. Biden would not take any of Trump's shit. Not that Clinton did either, strictly speaking, but Biden would tear Trump a new asshole where Clinton was still acting as if there might be some civility.
I think that will likely happen. I also think it will lead to the democrats losing badly in 2020.I disagree. The constitutional duty of Congress is to oversee the conduct of the executive branch and the amount of corruption that has been allowed to happen unchecked over the last two years likely has no precedent in US history.
There should be new hearings every day and new subpoenas every day. Two years won’t be close to enough time to get through all the sleaze so it’s important to get started right away.
Good luck with that. She's already said she's staying until Donny go bye bye.![]()

Gotcha, the wave is coming in 2020 now.![]()

That's not going to happen. It will end up being a circus. The only benefit will be that nothing else will happen on the federal level for the next two years.I'd suggest the Dems take cues from how Mueller and competent prosecutors work. Don't go Maxine Waters and attack Trump to only ultimately lose to him and harm our chances in 2020. We now have the power but many have fallen who wielded it unwisely. Trump is not a thinker, his base are cabbages, but the Rep leadership are sly old dogs.
I'm not saying we shouldn't have hearings and subpoenas but plan as prosecutors and go at Trump as if he were the head of the Mafia. Smart, public and ruthless, but don't trade smart for show.
If they do vigorously investigate Trump and his associates and find no criminality? It's not going to help Dems at all, but considering that Trump has more people who have been convicted than I don't know how many past Presidents, I shouldn't bet that it's all out.
If the Dems prosecute with considerable success? The only people they'll lose are those who would allow Trump to shoot people in the street and that seems to be quite a few, but not a majority of voters.

Dems are in a very precarious situation. Even with a majority in the house, they have *just enough* power to hang themselves and not enough to do any meaningful legislation. All of these new candidates got elected on messages of healthcare, middle class quality of life, ect. With GOP owning as much as they do in the senate, NOTHING is getting accomplished. Nothing. The next two years are nothing more than a circus as any meaningful governing is tossed out the window and a President who doesn't care, if not outright enjoys shouting whatever he wants from the rooftops trying to rile up the base and make the dems look incompetent.
Dems have to be *INCREDIBLY* focused on exactly what they they want to investigate and how they go about it. If they run around like a bunch of bumbling Inspector Clouseau's they just play into Trump's game.
Trump will win on messaging, even if he has no right to. He's the president. He has an unmoveable base. And the types of voters that he can pull from the independent category will buy into his bullshit.
It would have to be so clean and well done that I just don't see how its possible. The moment on Dem does something that is considered political, it will give Trump and his supporters the opening to claim bias. Dems will then start arguing about intentions and not substance. This is what Trump does. He gets you to talk about him, and not the issue.

No, it started in 2018. The Democrats can't complete it until 2020 simply because there aren't enough offices up for reelection until then. Remember, the Dems just took the House despite a limited number of available seats, Republican election rigging and the historical tendency for lower voter turnouts during midterms; throw in more seats, improved fairness (including that crucial Florida decision) and higher turnouts for presidential elections and things don't look good for the Republicans in two years.
