It's educational, and should be considered a learning experience by all.

I don't come to OT often; but I do visit VC&G regularly, and BrightCandle strikes me as the kind of guy who's sarcasm/humor module is so completely broken that he gets butthurt literally every time anyone directs even a sliver of abrasion or jest toward him, to the point where he puts tons of other forum members on his ignore list. There were times when it seemed like he was bragging about just how big his ignore list was.

If you were to ignore all of the people on VC&G who were even slightly abrasive toward you, the forum would start looking like a pretty empty place. And it was especially dumb of him to go posting on OT the way he did. No way that was going to go well. He doesn't blend in with the crowd at all. I'm not surprised he finally decided to leave.

wow. I just don't understand what it is with some people--how does a human brain function in this manner?

It's so damn baffling. I suspect that we see a high concentration of such anti-social, auto-defensive behavior here, on a tech forum, where the average member would be geekier, certainly more socially-awkward, and probably smarter, than any other type of forum.

...but it's still so fascinating, these mental traps that people put in their heads.

Anyone that is capable of learning knew this already and anyone that isn't capable of learning is not gaining anything from the experience. This isn't educational, it's amusing, like watching a video on YouTube that begins with a drunk guy saying "watch this..."

As Darwin Award winners self-sacrifice to improve the gene pool Self-Ownage of the Year winners improve the morale of everyone that isn't them. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the most stupid few.

At what point in that thread did I start denying the photo of your bird-flipping chicken foot, or accuse anyone else of ignoring what I was saying, over and over again?

And, for what it's worth:

--I truly believed that was not your soup when I saw that thread. I realized immediately that I had to post that comment, and I had to word it in that way.
--I actually hoped that I was wrong, and that you would reply with a note or something (in the spirit of Nik and Azurik), but you knocked it out of the park. 😀
