Assuming that this is a hybrid electric:
What is the range of it?

Recharge time?

Yes, hybrid/electric. (Ford C-Max Energi) Needless to say I'm now quite the fan of them. Car is just tailor made for city-driving as it gets the best milage stopping/starting. (Regen energy from braking.)

Range in pure EV: 21 miles. Since I rarely drive more than that in a day, I virtually never use gas. Beyond that, it kicks into hybrid mode just like a Prius.

Charge time with the included (level 1) wall charger for any outlet is around 7.5 hours.
I just installed a level 2 charger in my garage that does the job in 2.5 hours. It's also more effecient than the level 1. The car regulates charge times itself based on optimum KW hours, so I have it set so that even if I get home at say, 7pm and plug in, the car won't start charging until 10pm during off-peak hours.

My electric bill has been about $5 more per month that what it was. It may even drop slightly with the improved effeciency of the L2 charger.

Yup- now I'm an EV fan. I want to swear off gas entirely as EVs become even more effecient.

I'm shocked especially since the Politician that did this is a Republican.

Hopefully this takes off Country wide.

Kentucky town opens filling station to the public

The Somerset Fuel Center opened to the public selling regular unleaded gas for $3.36 a gallon, a bit lower than some nearby competitors. In the first three hours, about 75 customers fueled up at the no-frills stations, where there are no snacks, no repairs and only regular unleaded gas.

The mayor says the station was created in response to years of grumbling by townspeople about stubbornly high gas prices in Somerset, a city of about 11,000 near Lake Cumberland, a popular fishing and boating haven.

"I'm tickled to death that they're trying to do something," Ed Bullock said as he filled up his car. "I'm glad they made the investment."

The venture unnerved local filling station and convenience store operators suddenly competing with the city in this Republican stronghold. Critics said the government has no business imposing itself into the private sector, and one store owner branded it as socialism.

Mayor Eddie Girdler, however, is standing firm behind the idea of the city-run station.

Girdler, a Republican in his second term, said the city isn't looking to put anyone out of business.
"We don't care if we don't sell a drop of gasoline," he said. "Our objective is to lower the price."

"We are one community that decided we've got backbone and we're not going to allow the oil companies to dictate to us what we can and cannot do," Girdler said. "We're going to start out small. Where it goes from here we really don't know."

The amount charged motorists will be based on an average regional price for gas, and will include a small markup to cover costs, the mayor said. The city isn't out to make a profit, he said. Instead, the goal is to lower gas prices and lure more lake visitors into Somerset, he said.

George Wilson, the town's economic development business coordinator, said gas prices in Somerset are often 20 to 30 cents a gallon higher than in neighboring towns. Many lake visitors fuel up elsewhere, costing Somerset millions of dollars in retail sales, Girdler said.

Dan Gilligan, president of the Petroleum Marketers Association of America, said a staff attorney involved in the industry since 1973 could not recall another city getting into the retail gas business. The National League of Cities said it was unaware of another U.S. city with such a venture.

The city is purchasing gas from a hometown supplier, Continental Refining Co. The city purchased a fuel storage facility for $200,000 a few years ago. Now, up to 60,000 gallons of regular unleaded gas can be stored there for the retail business.

The city spent less than $75,000 to convert the fueling center into a retail operation, the mayor said. Much of the investment went to upgrade pumps and add computer software to handle credit card purchases.

US Oil Refineries Running At Record Levels Amid Domestic Supply Boom, But Pump Prices Will Still Hurt

U.S. refiners are processing oil at record levels this summer, thanks to the boom in North American energy production, expanding refinery capacity and falling operating costs. But all that extra gasoline doesn't mean less pain at the pump.

Refinery inputs totaled 16.8 million barrels of crude oil per day in each of the past two weeks, smashing the previous record from the summer of 2005

“We’re pumping a lot of juice — these refineries are running hard,” Donald Morton, senior vice president at financial advisory firm Herbert J. Sims & Co

Still, even as refineries churn out more gasoline and diesel products, don’t expect to pay any less at the pump this summer, Andy Lipow, a Houston-based oil industry consultant and president of Lipow Oil Associates LLC, said.

Refineries first hit record levels last week, when inputs totaled 16.6 million barrels a day, the most in weekly EIA data going back to 1989.

The boom has not only increased supplies, it has lowered costs for refiners, since raw domestic crude comes cheaper than supplies shipped in from overseas.

That trend is likely to continue into the future as North American drillers produce more crude oil and refineries continue to expand their capacity. "If one looks at the long-term trend, the answer is we are going to be processing record amounts of crude oil over the next few years, more than we've previously done."

Jowo and his band of Oil Thugs getting richer at the expense of Americans.

Remember these Marauders put a sad phoney tale out everyday on how here has not been a new refinery built since 1979.

They fail to tell you Refineries have been closed while they have expanded existing ones like this to new records while Americans foot the cost with price gouging.

Exxon eyes expanding Texas refinery into biggest in U.S.

Exxon Mobil Corp is considering a multibillion-dollar plan to expand its Beaumont, Texas, refinery into the country's largest

The expansion of the 344,600 barrel-per-day (bpd) Beaumont refinery, if carried out, would be completed by 2020 and potentially double its size with the addition of a third crude distillation unit (CDU)

A bigger Beaumont would bolster the U.S. Gulf Coast's position as a top global supplier of gasoline and diesel at a time when domestic demand is falling.

Profits for Gulf Coast refiners have swollen as cheaper North American crude allows them to capture big margins when exporting refined products.

Fight those boogiestrawmen!!!

The company for whom I work for is making money by selling more equipment and revamping existing equipment at this Exxon refinery as well as others in the region. Additional money is being made from installing the new equipment and servicing/repairing/revamping tge equipment.

I paid $3.09/gal when I filled up yesterday.

Fire shuts CVR Refining's Kansas refinery

Four employees were hurt in a fire at CVR Refining's 115,000-barrel-per-day refinery in Coffeyville, Kansas, after a fire broke out at an isomerization unit early on Tuesday, the company said in a statement.

The refinery was shut down after the fire

Reports indicate CVR employees were working on a pump when it caught fire with flames engulfing the area

Crude oil traders on Tuesday said the Coffeyville refinery ran a lot of Cushing crude, so prices in the domestic cash market were likely to be pressured.

$3.28 today in Columbus.

It's always amusing watching Dave flail impotently around in his threads.

Only at the most expensive stations. Of course, that's what you latch onto. Your link shows the VAST majority of stations at $3.30's-$3.40's range. But of course, ignore that. ;)

Always takes at least 24 hrs or more for those sites to catch up.

Stations all around me are at $3.49

Have to find article from yesterday that said gas was going to keep going down.

Clueless fucking people shouldn't have jobs in Journalism.

There probably was as the jump in Lexington was from 3.17 to 3.55. It had fallen nicely though from around $3.85 straight to $3.18.

Besides why do you give a rat shits ass, you are in South Fucking Carolina.

Bring your scrawny ass here to my face and show me a station around me not at $3.49

Open your mostly shut eyeballs for a change and you can clearly see the stations that jumped are the newest time entries.

There are close to 100 stations that are below $3.49 75+ are at $3.18-$3.30

Feel like providing your cross street?

50+ sites show as below $3.40 this AM in Indianapolis.

Maybe you should look at the locations that have cheaper gas instead of going for the most expensive because a good looking person is manning the register.

Or if that is to difficult for you, post your location (major crossroads) and the people here can advise you on where to save on fuel costs.
