I dunno probably $3.60 average.

We won't see $4+ gas being the norm until 2018 or so. and $5+ gas in 2024 or so I think is my guesstimate.

If there was another rip higher in price like in '08 where it was way above the norm of ~$2.70 to $4.00 then it crashed down to $1.55. Remember it like it was yesterday. Would be no different today. If it rose to $5 it'd crash to $2.

I stand by this :p

My wife has never and will never nix my auto buying decisions, nor do I expect the majority in this country. You are putting way to much value on mpg in the buying decision. It's color, looks and amenities, in that order. That's why car manufacturers pour so much money in those qualities.

I really don't care to spend more money on gas than I have to. The most important thing for me is actually how fast the heat turns on in the winter and how good the AC is in the summer :p. I prefer a solid dependable car but also at least 20-30mpg. Other than that I'm not a big luxury car guy, rode in enough of those as a kid. Could the minor repairs be like, not $700 that'd be great.

Gas went up about 10 cents here just yesterday or the day before. Still under $3.50/gal though.

People are wising up to this bullshit thanks to me.

We are up to our eyeballs in oil and why are these reporters from places like Budapest and Turkey?

Oil up over $103 on winter demand, supply concerns

The price of oil rose 1 percent to close above $103 a barrel Wednesday, driven by severe winter weather in the U.S. and supply concerns.

The last time the price of oil was above $103 was in October.

Severely cold weather and snowstorms in the eastern region in the U.S. have boosted energy prices. The National Weather Service said more snow is ahead for residents of northern New England, one day after a storm dumped about a foot on many communities.

Investors will also be monitoring fresh information on U.S. stockpiles of crude and refined products.

Meanwhile, expectations for an increase in oil supplies were dampened after Iran rejected a key demand of six world powers in their latest round of talks in Vienna aiming to finalize a deal to control Tehran's nuclear program. Iran, a major oil producer, will be able to export more crude if the talks lead to reduced sanctions.

Protests in Venezuela, one of the top five crude suppliers to the U.S., and snags in oil production in Libya and South Sudan also helped increase prices.

Here we go a dumb reporter prepping us for their next excuses, now that the cold weather excuse is over done, we are going to move towards Iran and Venezuela... How pathetic is this.

oil up due to excessive greed in trading.....no other reason.....if the price was supply and demand it would be way down.... less people working ..lower demand....

Down to as low as $3.28 here (from the $3.49 last week).

Caught up to that $3.49 last week, noticed dropped to $3.47 last night on way in to work.

I doubt it will drop to the $3.28 especially with oil up over $102 and climbing plus they use the maintenance blend excuse and now that winter is over they are switching to the old Iran excuse as well.

I can't read this many posts. Is this just a random collection of people posting their local gasoline prices? There were websites for this. They'll even point out the cheapest station in your area.

Let me summarize how these McOwned threads go. McOwned will see gas rising a few cents from $3.50, come in with all kind of predictions as high as $10/gallon. Gas will go up 25 cents, peak, and then go back down. McOwned will remain silent till the next rise from $3.50. Then it's back to him being right all along and we are all fools. You would think after 5 times or so of this he would have some humility and stop yet he is still here doing it. Even with links to his past horrible wrong predictions he still thinks THIS time he will be right.

Speaking of patterns.

I am so glad you posted this.

Well which is it a few cents or 25 and 30 cent jumps?

25 to 30 cents jumps is a lot of money out of the pockets of Americans for no good reason other than being price gouged by thieving thugs you support.

Why do you support them?

Could it be you are like Lopped and Jowo and work in the Industry and personally gain from these outrageous "jumps"?

The only "fools" is Americans, letting themselves be raped and plundered by this thieving thug Industry since 1973.

Remember this post when the excuses start pouring in a few weeks that because of the yearly "maintenance" and "maintenance issues" that these thugs will say they can't produce enough oil or gasoline after they have just produced more than ever in the last 26 years.

Also remember most of that gets shipped around the world to Countries that only charge 25 cents a gallon because Americans are subsidizing these Countries so willingly without protesting a bit against these oil Industry Thugs.

U.S. Fuel Demand Highest for January Since 2008

“Domestic crude production remains strong, and both gasoline and distillate production reached record highs for the month of January.”

U.S. fuel consumption increased in January to the highest level for the month in six years as cold weather bolstered demand, the American Petroleum Institute said.

Fuel Production

Production of both gasoline and distillates reached all-time January highs, the API said, with distillates up 7.2 percent to 4.8 million barrels a day and gasoline gaining 4.5 percent to 9.02 million.

U.S. crude oil output increased 15 percent to 8.09 million barrels a day in January, the highest level for the month in 26 years.

Crude Tightens Up for Another Thrust?

Chart Prepared by Jamie Saettele, CMT using Marketscope 2.0

The reversal from above the December high gave way to several days of congestion.

Crude is nearing a possible reaction zone defined by lows from September and the October high from 103.49 to 104.35 (pullback from there?).

-Long term, the failed break of long term trendline supports may very well propel the market higher in the coming months.

It's not 25 to 30 cents jumps like us folks in the north get raped by but at least Texans are having to pay at least a little more from all that bragging of how cheap they get gasoline compared to us Yankees.
