i thought your prediction was $5. maybe some day you'll be right. undoubtedly you'll then crow about how you were right all along and everyone else was wrong.

I would again refer to the farmer and snake metaphor. He has been banned specifically for this exact kind of behavior, and allowed to return if he stopped, which he hasn't some because he can't. We often return to our nature in time, so nobody can be surprised.

That is old news, $5 was passed a couple of years ago, they are going for $6 this year.

Off to an early start, jumped to $3.69 here yesterday.

If you are talking about "average" for the Country well with places like Texas and other southern states like South Carolina running nearly a dollar less than us Yankees in the north and the coasts it may be a while before the Country as a whole reaches a $5 average.

Why the Country is Ok with such a disparity in price is another story.

Guess as long as most Yankees and East and West Coast folks can afford to fill their tanks they won't revolt against the Oil Thugs.

That's why they get a way with this shit.

I already revolted against the oil thugs. I bought a hybrid which basically doubled my city mpg and cut my monthly gasoline bill in half.

Why is it that Oil Thus supporters lie that prices are lower than they are?

What do they gain by the lies?

Meanwhile up I-65 more stations are over $4 than under and the average is quickly approaching $4

Looks like Venezuela and Ukraine are driving up world oil prices. Always an excuse or so it seems. Speculators gotta get that price up to get the 'middle man' profit.

Thugs will be thugs

Remember oil production is highest in 26 years and gasoline production is highest in 20 years and of course the number one export of the United States.

They are never short of excuses:

Oil price rises as US cold forecast to return

Oil prices rise for seventh straight week on US demand as cold spell forecast to return

Forecasters predicted a return of more cold weather in the coming weeks after a brief warm spell.

Analysts, however, have said oil prices could reverse direction due to a tempering of global demand and ample supplies.

Supplies also appeared to be robust in the U.S. despite the higher demand, with weekly crude stocks on a rising trend.

Well, that would pretty much kill the pickup truck/SUV market in this country.

That's been said before and the pickup truck/SUV market in this country is still thriving because Americans like to bend over with no lube as seen by the posts by the Oil Thug and Thugette supporters in here.

Exxon Mobile CEO Sues To Stop Fracking Near His Texas Ranch

"Exxon Mobile's CEO Rex Tillerson's day job is to do all he can to protect and nurture the process of hydraulic fracturing—aka 'fracking'—so that his company can continue to rake in billions via the production and sale of natural gas.

'This type of dysfunctional regulation is holding back the American economic recovery, growth, and global competitiveness,' said Tillerson in 2012 of attempts to increase oversight of drilling operations.

But now Rick Unger reports at Forbes that Tillerson has joined a lawsuit seeking to shut down a fracking project near his Texas ranch.

Why?

Because the 160 foot water tower being built next to Tillerson's house that will supply the water to the near-by fracking site.

An Exxon spokesman said Tillerson declined to comment.

Holy shit Batman, using the Hurricane excuse in February for high gas prices, wow, the Oil Thugs are really stretching it this year

Oh and remember the Original Post where these Oil Thugs said gasoline prices were not going to spike this year.

Gasoline prices seen jumping at least another 10 percent

Gasoline prices, already up about 12 cents in two weeks, are expected to bubble up at least another 10 percent before peaking in the spring.

"I do suspect that March will probably deliver the largest increases," said Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at GasBuddy. "I think they top out, and then I think they drop back."

Kloza expects to see regular unleaded gasoline rise to $3.70 a gallon by Easter Sunday, April 20.

"The worry I have for the summer is hurricane season. We have not had a hurricane strike the U.S. since we have been an export country. We export 1.3 million barrels of diesel and probably looking at exports of gasoline that are 700,000 barrels a day," he said, adding that U.S. export refineries tend to be along the Gulf Coast.

Other factors include higher oil prices and lower output from European refineries.

"I'm expecting that gasoline prices over the next couple of weeks are going to rise and approach $3.50 a gallon nationwide," said Andrew Lipow of Lipow Oil

Lipow predicts that prices will peak at about $3.70, and then head lower around Memorial Day, the start of the summer driving season.

Since the OP doesn't drive, or ever seem to go anywhere, I can't imagine why this subject is so important to him. Anyone else care to hazard a guess?

Because everything you buy is impacted by oil/gas/diesel prices. Everything delivered to your house. With that said, while diesel is 'high' here, it is remarkably stable compared to gas.

Impacted, but not hugely. Diesel is what is important there, and it isn't nearly as volatile in price.

Diesel has the same identical requirements throughout the US (Ultra Low Sulphur) whereas gas has different blend requirement based on state snd region. Diesel and gas have different pipelines and supply depots.
