2012 Superbowl Predictions

The AFC comes down to four teams as I see it.

Steelers
Pats
Ravens
Jets

The dark horses would be Houston and Indy. San Diego always looks like a smart pick, and they will probably win the AFC West, but they always find a way to blow it.

The NFC... I have no fucking clue. Everybody piled on the Eagles bandwagon but they have looked borderline awful in the preseason. I don't care about the PS records but starters on starters, the Eagles haven't done much.

The NFC South looks like a potential blood bath. I think this will be Tampa's breakout year but Atlanta looks great as usual and the Saints are retooled and when Brees has a legitimate running game he's pretty much unstoppable. You could have both wild card teams come out of this division.

This is looking like a really fun season.

My prediction: Green Bay beats Tampa, goes back to the Super Bowl and they LOSE to the Ravens. The Jets get to be the bride's maid again and Rex loses his fourth straight AFC Title game.

and I think Hair boy should worry less about his 'look at me' lid and more about his awful coverage skills. Yes, he's a fine athlete, and makes some big hits, but he is perhaps the most overrated player I've ever seen.

made it quite clear you have no idea what you are talking about, do you even know the difference between a Strong-Safety and a Free-Safety? As a strong-safety he has made plays and accrued stats that rival most of the best free-safeties on top of his redonkulous strong-safety play.

when he's healthy there's almost always at least one play in every game that makes it painfully obvious that Troy Polamalu plays the game at a higher level than just about any other player in the NFL

its like the dude has a sixth sense that allows him to blow up plays in the backfield, whether its beating the entire opposing offense on the snap count or simply out maneuvering a RB to the outside after coming from 15 yards deep as if he's going to defend against a pass.

patriots vs redskins

Saying this as a huge beloved patriot fan, you won't be seeing them in the Superbowl this year. They've showed poise in the pre-season games but it doesn't mean as much as people think it does. They don't have a lot of depth and injuries are really going to be an issue this season. I think they'll come out of the gate strong and rack up some wins but by November they'll be struggling and will finish 8-8.

GB is gonna dominate the NFC this year if they are healthy. I'm torn in the AFC. I think the balance of power is shifting back toward the NFC. I think it'll be one of the usual suspects in the AFC (Steelers, Patriots, Colts).

I'm voting for a repeat Steelers vs Packers.

I'm a Packer fan, so I'm not being totally impartial, but I think GB will be a good team again this year. I am a bit worried about them losing Nick Barnett and Cullen Jenkins, as well as Woodson being another year older.

The NFC North looks strong this year, the two teams that played in last years NFC Championship and eventual Super Bowl winner are in that division, as well as a much stronger looking Detroit team. I'm not really sure what to make of the Vikings yet, I don't know if this is a 6-10 team or a 10-6 team.

But I like GB's chances of getting back to the Super Bowl.

On the AFC side of things, it's hard to argue with the Pats or Steelers. I don't think there will be too many surprises here, it'll likely be one of the usual powerhouses that makes it to the Super Bowl.

One thing I predict in the AFC is the Colts will not be great, I think this is a team in decline. I could still see them being a playoff team, but I'm not sure I can see them doing much once they make it there. Of course, no one has even played a single game yet, so who knows.

I think you're correct, unfortunately. Polian and Irsay have squandered chances to go after good free agents in Manning's twilight years and we're stuck with a poor head coach (Caldwell) and a poor DC (Coyer).

The Jest can't get it done with Sanchez. AFC is Patriots, Steelers, maybe Ravens.

Pats will have a good regular season and get slammed in the playoffs again. I even think the Jests might win the AFC East. At any rate, I think it comes down to the Steelers and Ravens in that conference. The NFC is harder to call and I think it comes down to the Eagles and Packers there, with the Saints being close.

Chargers vs. Giants

I'd be cool with this.

The Chargers have the offense. Hell they have the defense. They just keep shooting themselves in the foot when it counts. But with hard-nosed Bisaccia handling special teams this year and as long as Kaeding doesnt have to kick FG's at home in the playoffs they should be alright.

Patriots? Fuck the Patriots. No way in hell they ever win another superbowl.

Why do you say that? I don't care for them, but they made some good off season moves, have a decent coach, and very well may already have Brady's successor learning from Brady right now.

Have the Steelers upgraded their Offensive Line this year? If not, I don't think they get to the SB.

Nope, it is one of the major concerns/questions about the team from what I've been seeing.

AFC playoffs will prob be
Pats
Steelers
Chargers
Texans
Ravens
Jests

from there no idea where things will go in the playoffs

NFC - have no f'ing clue but I imagine Packers, Falcons, Eagles, Saints all make it to the playoffs
